Monitor: Height 44cm, Width 61cm, Depth 10cm. The monitor stand I will transport myself

Case is flippen heavy, I guesstimate about 30KGs

Here's hoping that you can organise something. BTW, I'd need some kind of insuarnce option on my gear, replacement value is about R40K.

Funny enough, I literally just received a call from Alex.

He's looking to put all 3 pc's into one "Bin". He worked out a quote for us based on 100kgs so far - on "cash basis" it will cost about R1700.00 and if he can convince his MD to give it to us as "account basis" we are looking at just over R1000.00 total. This includes Alex having his guys bubble wrapping/packing the pc's.
Our call got cut short, but when he phones me back I'll ask if it includes insurance.

Mikey and Jono - could you just give me an estimate of the weight of your cases in the meantime?

Thanks Sheir, looks good. The price should hopefully be manageable for all concerned. I'll pay my insurance cost separately, I'm sure mine will be higher than anyone elses.

Sheri, my PC dimensions are as follows:

530 x 220 x 560 mm (according to the Thermaltake website)

Sorry, I have no way of actually weighing it as I have no scales, but I'd assume it's around 25-30kilos - maybe lighter now that it doesn't have watercooling.

Screen:

58cm x 43cm x 190cm with stand (according to the Samsung website).

Shame! I just found out why I hadn't heard from Alex yet. He was in the hospital with pneumonia!
Says he's feeling better and is back to work tomorrow.

He did tell me the price did NOT include insurance.

I've given Alex a value of all 3 pc's at around R62,000 total for insurance purposes. He will find out tomorrow.
He also said its a pretty good chance that he'll be able to talk his MD into giving us the account price of R1000.00 for the freight.

He is going to phone me with an update tomorrow and then I'll let you guys know.

Good news!! Denis has a spare gaming capable PC that he has offered to let me borrow for the rAge weekend. This gives us benefits that we don’t need to include my PC in the shipment, saving on the shipping costs for the heaviest of the three PCs, as well as insurance costs on the most expensive. All good, I think.

I will of course still chip in on the shipping costs, to keep it affordable for J0no and Christo.

@Fly, can I take you up on your offer of one of your spare monitors? That 17” LCD would do the job just nicely!
