DoGaming Leg 2

Post by Paul »

So that is that! Leg 1 of DGL is done and dusted. We had a fair bit of challenges during the first Leg but we “fought” through the challenges and have hopefully learned a thing or two. So what does this mean? Do we do the same thing we did last leg and hope for a different result, in case any of you missed that, that is the definition of madness. Now I know a few of us are crazy but I hope none of us are mad.

So we will be changing things up a bit, well more tweaking than totally changing. Actually yes, TOTALLY changing!!!!!!!

As of now, the Baggers team has been disbanded, they are NO more except:

*Hubris will remain as the fine captain and tactician that he has proven to be
*TygerBS will now be vice captain in charge of Logistics and Player ass whooping when they don’t come to pracs as well as holding Hurbis’ hand during those stormy nights

These two fine Gentleman will together produce a set of guidelines that will be used to determine the direction of the team and minimum requirements for being part of the team. Myself and the founding members will review these to make sure we are still keeping to the SPIRIT of Grrr. Once this is published each member of Grrr will then be able to apply for a position in the new Baggers team.

Assuming the same format as DGL Leg 1 that means there will be 6 core positions and 4 reserve positions. DO NOT apply lightly! (Don’t know if that even makes sense). If the policy states that you will need to attend 2 pracs a week, give blood once a month and name your First born PAUL, then ONLY APPLY if you can meet the requirements. We need a stable and committed team and with that goes sacrifice, sacrifice that not all of us can make. So please think long and hard before applying for a position in the team.

Tyger and Hubris will then review the applicants and decide on the team. The next leg starts 14th April and I would like us to get at least 1 practice match in before the next leg so we need to get on this ASAP.

So I would like Hubris and Tyger to please chat about what they think is required of a player to be in the team and make an application post by the end of this weekend. We can then apply during the following week and a team can be decided on

Great Paul. I've started working on a document. Tyger, Snake and I will meet on Friday to give it a once over before we submit it to the seniors. We're also going to see how far we can get in terms of ATC for naming and "dominant" strategies from each side.

It's quite a lot of work, but thankfully we had a good feedback session last night after the SSG match. I was able to note most of it down and incorporate it into the Baggers player guideline. Within a week or so, it should be on the table for review. ATC a little longer :)

As it stands, we have 9 committed players. However we find that one or two would like to give Leg 2 a skip. So my reckoning is that we need another 2, maybe 3 guys to fill a full roster of 12 with deamonic beeeeeaasts!

I'm looking to set up two friendlies soon. This week we can all take a break. However next week an the week after we're back into te swing of things with applications, practices and of course the two friendlies. I'm thinking BvD and SSG will be good choices.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this team. Its been a rough first leg, but we've straightened out some issues and are on the comeback train. A special thank you to Snake and the WarGeeks for being such awesome friends of Grrr.

Awesome Hurbis!!!

I see Snake couldn't read some post, I think he might not have the rights for the pryfart board.

Either PM him or post it in the boards he can see

Cool I think he is referring to a post I made last night on how the league works. I ended up deleting it and he may have had trouble trying to access it if his browser had not updated. I'll post that tonight with details of our opponents for the playoffs etc.

I think the 10 players that apply should not worry about who is listed as reserves. Each player will need to come to the practices so that the team as a whole can learn how they play, what roles they best playing and how they can fill that role if needed. There has to be a shared responsibility between all the players.

Pmurgs raised the overall quality of comms and call outs in your last game and it was suggested you move to a more organised squad based chat that resembles the Bf2 model and the model you used in BF:BC2
