Grand Bazzar Strat

Post by TygerBS »

Ok Did some ATC work on what we talked about last night.

Firstly the naming we did.

Start procedures for the Russian side.

RU is at a disadvantage as it takes longer to get to B flag. US always gets there first.

Our priority is to kill their APC and to flank around and take B from their back flag and pressure B(Alley way) from the rear.
Vanguard ride with the APC till they reach first side passage.
2 Van guard get out and move through Golden Alley. (1 Engineer. 1 Medic)
At corner 2 other VanGuard get out (2 engineers), they assault the enemy APC with our apc.
Defence Squad take transport to market and cap it, looking down the alleyway pressuring B from afar.

US are fastest to B, so our priority is to get as many guys on B flag as possible.
All squad head for Square our back flag, with vanguard going straight past and onto B. getting as far into B as possible before the enemy arrive.
Dense squad joins them as son as back flag is taken.
Armour squad covers down the alleyway, and waits to battle enemy APC.

If I have left anything out please post, or those who can edit this post.

NIce this is exactly the summary of last night. If this does turn out to be 100% the map we are playing on against BUD then the next thing to check it the spawn points. I.E. when we are capping a flag (already taken by the enemy) where would they spawn. This is especially relevant for B.

Thanks Tyger... So glad someone took it upon themselves to do ATC - I'm like an artistic cripple.

BTW game is confirmed on Bazaar against BUD at 8PM on Thursday. They can't do Sunday, tried to negotiate but alas. Otherwise they suggest next week Wednesday, which we don't want to do.

Also ATF challenged us to a game this Sunday, I'm keen to accept. Sorry for the tangent.

One small edit on the US strategy map. The armour squad should be parking in behind the bus, facing down the road. The drawing shows armour squad pulling in by the flag at A. Otherwise superb work Tyger, very useful.

Here is some food for thought. Bazaar is an interesting map as it in very hard to cap the second flag (B) with armour. This means the deciding flag is won or lost by good infantary play. You need two flags to get a ticket bleed, that is the key to winning. Looks its great to have detailed strats but they never last longer than 5 minuites. Its is far better to work on roles and positions.

I checked the rules for DGL and it seems M320 is not banned. You guys really need to consider having a M320 for use in the alley. Inversley you need to spread out in there so once you hold it so you dont get spammed out.

Best squad makeup for Bazaar is as follows

Apc Squad (A Squad)
1 x driver
2 x engineers (rpg + repair tool)

Use a mix of perks that suit you, just be sure who is using what so you dont doubble anything.
This Squad needs to hunt the other APC, the two engineers need to work at shooting RPG'S & fixing your APC, these two players need to be in synch, on shooting one healing. When the APC goes down they need to get into the action on B using RPGS to create suppression. If your APC driver is good he will know how long the respawn time is on the APC and can also help out while you wait for it to spawn. The APC driver needs to be conservative, draw the enemy into your killzone, keep your profile low and try and fight from points were your engineers can get rockets shots off from cover.

Assault Squad (B Squad):
3 x Assault with mix of healthpacks, revive & M320

This team needs to be on B all the time, the trick here is to never loose all your players (squad wipe). Revives are important but having someone to spawn on is the key to holding this area, as much as possible one should hold back while three fight & clear the rooms.

/Support/Flanking Squad (C Squad)
1 x support 1 x assault

You can mix this up but the support needs to give ammo to the Assault squad & the medic can med pack & revive his teamie and the Assault team. These two can win the game, they need to backup B Squad especially at the start when B flag is getting capped or when the Assault sqaud is wiped. On Bazaar they can do flaking moves or go for forward flag caps. If they play well they can really take the pressure off B Squad in the alley. They need to work as a team and be reactive. C Squad might even need to help with the armour battle by flaking the enemy APC and taking out any engineers repairing.

How your use your three squads and how the compliment each other:

The key to Bazaar is holding two flags and getting a bleed on. You must hold your closest to spawn flag (C for RU A for US). You must fight hard for B, when in B try split up on either side and keep the shooting up. I havent seen what weapons you plan to use but stick with the AK and M4 as they have highest ROF. Supression affects your targets aim by 50% so if you see a target in B open up with all you have. Keep the grenade and M320 spam up, it makes it really hard to aim accuratly. C Squad can help here, when the enemy APC is down they can flank or go fro A or C flags or even when your APC is down they can do the same.

While B squad will win the map by holding B it is the APC (Alpha Squad) that will enable them to do this. Alpha is responsible for capping, holding and clearing either the A or C flag. They need to draw the enemy armour into the battle as opposed to going after it. With two engineers using repair tools & RPGS it will be very hard to take down if it plays more of a defensive role. Engineers need to repair first and shoot second, take turns and try not die at the same time. If a back flag is capped ( A or C) then Alpha Squad needs to fall back and cap it.

C Squad are the glue that binds your two power squads, you need good indipendant players in these roles, they need to spot the enemy, backup A & B Squads and when the timing is right go for the forward flag. They are best used flanking the enemy at B and taking our the enemy APC engineers when possible (this is harder than it sounds). They need to be fluid and able to swicth roles, ammo will be an issue in B if your Assault squad keeps the suppression fire and grenade/M320 spam up.

DO NOT bother with the foward flag on this map unless you really are dominating, if you have a huge lead in the second round then go for it. Get two flags, hold your position in B, rely on your armour squad to draw the enemy into battles, they should be a hunter squad but not agressive, look for the enemy APC and then fall back, make it come to you and then hit it with RPGS.

I like, much of what i been saying.

Your points about the type of players for the type of squads is a good one

In this regard i would say that we have the wrong players in the wrong squads.
Myself, dryman or hubris are probably the best bet for flanking roving assault squad as it suites our style of play.

I would say

Yip that is also pretty much what I have been saying as well except IF we loose B then what? That is when I say the APC needs to head to their back flag. The point of this is to draw their troops so that we can retake B
