The Baggers are making good progress in our preperation for the DoGaming league but the Nutz have been very quiet.
What is happening on ther Nutz front, I know they are a player short with Onny taking a break but I hear that Jackal has been absent as well. Do we have enough players? I know this is easy to say because the team I am in is running nicely but I personal would rather only enter 1 team that is prepared than battle to get a second team with enough players.
But if that was the case what happens to the committed members of the Nutz. Please, please lets thrash this. We have up until 7th February to change/with draw teams.
Nutz and Baggers participation in DoGaming
Re: Nutz and Baggers participation in DoGaming
Denis posted a practice thread on the 10th of Jan (a week ago), calling for people to give their preferred practice and match days.
Up until now, the following responses have been posted:
- Skouperd: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays
- Dragonne: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Sundays (only days I can do due to my traveling)
- Shadey: Tues, Wed and Sunday
- Mega: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur, Sun
- Fly: SUNDAY (preferable) but can do any other day atm
- Stu: Sunday & Tuesday/Wednesday
- Nimbzy: Sunday, Mon, Thurs, Sat
- SloDaz: Sunday, Thurs, Fri
Based on that, within a week of asking, only 8 people have responded. Given that one of those is not available a lot of the time (Mega), and that I have committed only to being a team reserve, it does not appear that we have sufficient players.
Sure Voetsek is missing from the list and will hopefully return once his PC is sorted, but we're still very short of players. Give also that we have a total lack of any kind of practice or match schedule, or even discussion around things like kits, roles, squad formations etc, I can only conclude that there is insufficient commitment from the team and it's leadership to make a proper fist of competing in the DGL.
That's just my view of course, I'd be happy to a load of people jump out and contradict what I'm saying...

Re: Nutz and Baggers participation in DoGaming
as far as I am concerned I'm available as a player and reserve for Nutz / Baggers and am willing to commit to practice times provided they don't fall on Mondays and Thursdays as previously mentioned.
Skoup could we get an 'active' Nutz head count? At this stage we should know weather it is viable for us to field a team.

Re: Nutz and Baggers participation in DoGaming
As everyone knows,
Jackal is having issues with BF3 atm as per a thread he posted not too long ago.
I have recently spoken to him and he told me about his dissapointment as he was so very keen on playing for the nutz and at the moment is strugling to stay in game for longer than 15min at a time.
I am very sure that if his bf3 problems is sorted he would be very comitted

Re: Nutz and Baggers participation in DoGaming
Thanks for the feedback so far. From past experience you need 10 COMMITTED people in order to make a successfull go of it. It there are only 8 people then chances are some one won't be able to make a match here and there.
That creates a nightmare headache for the captain and also drastically reduces your chances of performing well.
I think one of the most important persn to hear from is Skoup, maybe he has all the answers and there isn't an issue. My main concern
is
* People's enjoyment, I don't want people getting frustrated
* Keeping our rep in tact, I don't want to be known as the clan that fades away half way through a league

Re: Nutz and Baggers participation in DoGaming
Practise sessions have dried up completely during the holiday seasons and the people are only starting to come back now. I would suggest that the Nutz take on SiB on Tuesday next week, to see what the response / commitments is like, and then take it from there.
If we are unable to field a committed 10 man, then I'd suggest pull out now. Nothing is as bad as playing a clannie with only 6 or 7 players, both for the 6 or 7 players, and for the opposing team.

Re: Nutz and Baggers participation in DoGaming
I agree Skoup. The Baggers also didn't have pracs during the holiday season but things should return to normal now.
When I appointed Skoup and Hubris as captains I said they have 100% control over their teams and their decisions are final.
So if Skoup feels that there are not enough players by the time the 7th rolls around then we will withdraw the Nutz team. We will then have to figure out a way to accomodate players who still want to play.

Re: Nutz and Baggers participation in DoGaming
I am happy to sit out of the league in lieu of a more comitted BF3er if it benefits the team.

J0no, I don't think that there is any doubt that you should be in the Baggers team, as long as you are committed and practicing (not just in clannies, but also on public servers). However, to be fair to the other players in the clan, if your primary focus is goingt o be on LOTRO, and there is a danger of the Nutz not fielding a team, then maybe you should step aside for a more committed player. Off the top of my head, I can think of a few Nutz players that I'm sure would relish the opportunity and are committed and playing BF3 regularly - Stu, Fly, Sheri etc.
It must be your call though. When committed, you deserve to be in the Baggers on merit, no doubt. Only you can say whether or not you're 100% committed to the game (not the team, we know that you're committed to the team).
Just my thoughts, and sorry that it's not exactly on topic here.

Woooh-wooh lets hold our horses for a second. Skoup has said he will re-evaluate the situation next week i.e. for their SiB match next week.
As it stand there are still 2 teams
