BF3 Bugs

Post by Megageth »

Things that should work but dont.

Movement
You cannot climb over a boom. Its waist high.
You cannot step over objects that are ankle high.
Happened twice, just walking.running then I get "PUSHED" from behind, then die with a BAD LUCK. It wasn't a tank or jeep riding over me or anything like that
I climbed on some sandbags at Mining Area last night in Damavand Peak and died from Bad Luck. (Bad Luck = Bad Code)
Not sure if they fixed it but there is a bug with one of the RHIB's from the carrier in Noshahr Canals. As soon as you pull off in it there's a good chance it will blow up from 'Bad Luck'. Happened twice to me.

Spawning
They said its better in the new patch. Its not. Seems worse if anything.

Knifing
I have missed players at point blank and knifed others at around 3m away.

Equipment
Soflam is now completely useless . . . They've tweaked the mouse sensitivity and acceleration etc. I play with very low sensitivity and while it works great for soldier and vehicle, the soflam now turns at 1mm onscreen per Kilometer on the mousepad.....it's a serious pain in the arse.
When you place recon equipment, it often it lights up showing that you are placing in a suitable area but refuses to place it there so you end up bobbing up and down in the open.

General
Some fences are impenetrable by bullets. Noticed this in Noshahr Canals by Train.
Since the patch I am getting in-game freezing which I wasn't before.
Occasionally, when joining on a soldier the game starts in Campaign mode.

Don't you have a variable sensitivity mouse? I tend to ramp mouse up to highest sensitivity when operating armour, wouldn't this work for the SOFLAM too?

i do, but heat-of-battle mouse sensitivity switching is a pain . . . when you're camera moding in the soflam and need to take care of someone quickly who is targeting you or the Soflam, it's annoying having to change settings acurately (2 clicks or three clicks) I suppose I jst need to train myself or re-imagine some better settings or something and then train myself to use the new settings as opposed to setting up the in-game sensitivity. . . .*sigh

edit: only reason I complain, is that it was actually perfect before - so why is it a problem now? I'll figure it out. . . .

Lee / Jarrod you raise an interesting question, what sensitivity do you guys have your mouses set at? I tend to play with 800dpi, in both armour and with infantry, but will slow it down to about 400dpi when I am sniping.

TBH Denis, it's about more than that. Your DPI setting controls the 'speed' of the mouse hardware itself, but you also have mouse sensitivity settings in-game that will change the mouse speed from a software perspective.

My Lachesis allows for up to 5 DPI settings on the mouse, but I only use 3: 750, 1500 and 2500. Normal game (infantry), I play at 750. I up it to 2500 when in vehicles, and use the 1500 setting in Windows.

In-game though, my mouse sensitivity is quite a lot lower than default, sitting about 1/3 of the way up the slider.

sure, but I never play with mouse sensitivity in the game, I always just set my DPI in setpoint (my G5 allows me 3 settings) which I then use throughout. so, assuming you left the slider on its default in game, then we will both be playing with more or less the same setup.

It is a well known fact that EA breaks more things with a patch than fixing it!!!!
They did not let us down with BF3.............
