Old Games
Anyone know of anyone (in Jhb, preferably) that wants old(ish) games?
As usual, I have heaps of older games I just never play any longer, that are taking up space, and want to get rid of.
Not shipping to CT, coz last time I did that, the individual in question sold them off, which was very uncool.
The idea is to distribute the games (give, as in free) to kids or people that can't afford to either buy games, or the hardware required to play the new stuff.
The ones I wanna get rid of at the moment:
Nexus: The Jupiter Incident (RTS... sort of)
Vampire: Bloodlines (RPG)
Fallout 3
ARMA 1 & 2 (MilSim)
Need for Speed: Undercover (racing)
Need for Speed: Carbon (racing)
Assassin's Creed 1 (RPG/Action)
Bioshock 1 (RPG)
Velvet Assassin (RPG stealth)
World in Conflict (RTS-ish)
Spore (rubbish/RPG/RTS)
Hellgate: London (RPG)
Company of Heroes (RTS)
Company of Heroes: Opposing Opposing Fronts (addon to above)
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (Milsim)
Silent Hunter 4 (Submarine Sim)
Heroes of Might and Magic 5 (Turn based RTS)
Warhammer: Mark of Chaos (RTS/RPG)
Mass Effect (reading material. Still not sure what the point of the game was)
Sacred 2: Gold Edition (RPG)
Grid (racing)
There may be more when I finish digging through the boxes of stuff I stashed when my office /study was being remodelled.
Also, there may be issues with online registration/CD keys with some of them, as I have played all of them, or at least installed them and found out I didn't enjoy the title. It's a 'voetstoets' thing, but it wont cost you anything.
None are pirates. All in original packaging, with manuals, etc. where applicable (some titles come with the manual on the discs)
Edit: Oh ja... ARMA 2 and OFP: Dragon rising need pretty high-end rigs to play in detail, but they are pretty decent games. ARMA 2 actually needs a pretty hot rig, but it's very pretty if you can run it.

Re: Old Games
I'd suggest checking with Geth on some of those titles - he may be able to run them on his laptop whilst he's in hell-holes like DRC or Chad. Might give him more entertainment than growing various facial hairstyles or consorting with hookers....

Re: Old Games
I am really interested. I collect games and my new gf's son would love to have some of those titles. Especially over the school holiday
Please Scico i would take them how much do you want for them?

Re: Old Games
I've read that three times now, so I'm fairly sure I have it right, and all I can say is, I'm aghast (No. Doesn't mean I am suddenly a member of the undead fraternity).
If I knew how, I'd probably cry.
Did you even read the whole post?
I'm wanting to give these games to people (or those children things) that will want to play them, probably on old AGP machines, but Jackal wants to take them all, and put them on a shelf? Or, more likely, in a cardboard box
What, pray tell, is the point of 'collecting' old PC games? Right up there with collecting old, snapped shoelaces, or underpants with holes in them, tbh.
They will never have any real value. In fact, the older they get, the more worthless they become. Some of the games I have already given away (with my old AGP system) wouldn't even install on my current machine without an E-lobotomy.
I'd understand if you said you wanted titles X,Y and Z, to give to said GF's son, but, dude, really... you missed the point here completely.
But, whatever. I tried... I despair... I give up.
If you want this shit, it's yours. Come and get 'em (I'm not driving out to Steekjoupielinmyholfontein to deliver them to you. The less time I have to spend driving the Vulva, the better. I did mention preferably in Jhb).
May I also draw your attention to the two terms I use:
"give, as in free"
and,
"it won't cost you anything"

Re: Old Games
Can you ship them to Cape Town Jules, I have a decent collection that would be complemented by most of those titles and the ones I already have, I can just sell.

Re: Old Games
