COD Revival

My dear grrrbian friends!

Let me start by saying it is an honor to be appointed as COD Captain; I hope I do right by [grrr] and make us a clan to be reckoned with!
This post has been a bit delayed, but I did not want to force anything straight after rAge. I know that I, for one, needed a 'cooling down' period after the mad, chaotic, LEG END experience of rAge. (Or maybe I'm just old...)

We started out as a BF2 clan... [grrr], the bunch of fun-loving guys not necessarily known for their competitive drive. At rAge 2008 (with the Agasa league before that), we showed the entire SA community that it IS possible to kick ass while having a million laughs at the same time. *cough FIB cough* Again, this year, we did not have the resources (grrr server, 2x grrr teams to practice) and hence did not fair so well in the beginning. However, we pulled up our socks at the end and came out TOP of the 1st Division league. Well done boys and girls! Sure, we had a kak draw in regards to the pool at rAge, but just the fact that we were placed in the same pool with the top teams of the past 2 years says something! (It might just say the DoGaming dudes are ignorant, but that's a whole other argument.)

So, here we are... post-rAge.. an end to a great year (kudos to Lee and Paul) and facing new challenges... or if you prefer (as I do) new opportunities. I accepted the position of COD Captain because I truly believe in expanding teh awesomeness that is grrr into other games. I know with a bit of hard work and dedication that WE as a clan, as a family, can be SO MUCH MORE then a group of pc geeks (or is it pc nerds?) playing arb pc games. We truly have something special here in grrr and I am so glad that I have been accepted into this crazy, loveable family.
Ya'll mean more to me than you can possibly imagine!

Without further ado, I'd like to announce my plans for grrr regarding COD: WE WILL KICK ASS IN MW2!!! I've hesitated posting because I've been doing some research into COD. From what I have gathered, COD4 will be the closest representation to MW2. Therefore, I bought the game and played for the very first time. It's been a week now that I've been playing COD4 and it really, really sux being a n00b again! That being said, I've fallen in love with the fast-paced, intense experience that COD has to offer. (Also makes me feel REALLY old! LOL... damn here I thought my G9 and super Goliath Razer mouse pad would help balance teh odds!) Regardless, I think the tactical nature of this game will suit us very well. We had an adjustment period in the beginning with COD:WAW, but really starting 'gelling' towards the end. I'm telling you that if we were able to overcome the problems with short players, we would have been one of the top teams. I still get msg's from okes on Xfire asking us for a clannie!

Today, Dyn Fuhrer (some might recognize da nick from bf2) challenged grrr to a friendly COD4 clannie for Thurs which I have accepted. Now, now... before you all get your panties into a (insert appropriate noun), I do not expect us to win. My intention of accepting this clannie is for all of us to learn what is expected in a COD clannie. I'd rather play now and gain experience as opposed to getting our asses kicked in the first MW2 clannie.

BUT, I'm not so naive as to go into this blind-sided. Maybe it's my feminine charm, but I have been able to 'hire' grrr a Coach for COD clannies. Our coach is the one and only Kevin (Grav's bro, aka COD expert.) I've also been offered assistance from BFB DingBat, 2nd top team that competed in COD4 this year. Ding has offered to get BFB guys to "teach us the ins and outs of COD clannies".

Tomorrow night, Kevin has secured us a server to practice on. I know it is short notice, but I would appreciate all those that can make it. Namely, All mighty grrr TL Dragqueen (oi, can we still call him that since he's grrr leader??), Osiris, Jackal, Icey, Daz, Lep (who has agreed to Merc again for grrr this year), Toppie??? (which reminds me, One of you Ermelo brothers, please give me Toppie's contact info!!) If I have missed anyone that is interested in playing COD, please contact me!

Looks awesome Sheri, looking forward to giving this a go. However don't we need to get the mod that makes COD4 more 'competitive' before we can play (think it's called promod)?
