ok, this isnt really a rant so much as a request for understanding when i raise my voice in a clannie to my squaddies:
i would like to try a squad movement, which i started thinking about this last few weeks when playing medic.
Normally as an engineer i ruch forward and die way too many times trying to get closer the the enemas and taking them out.
NOW as medic, i would like my squad to work n a diamond formation, with me as medic on the back corner so that i can reach ANY of the other three within a few seconds. it doesnt have to be a perfect diamond, but we HAVE to be close. i also think that if there is a second medic, they should be on the other back corner (IE - the medics must be further away from the action) I dont seem to be able to kill as many peeps as medic, but i sure as hel would like to keep the rest of you alive.
so with lee's permision, i would like to be a "vice" squad leader in that i will be trying to keep the squad i am in in formation.
please feel free to comment

Re: Fly's squad rant
I don't think we need a diamond formation or any other formation. I have only played in 1 BC2 clannie and as long as the squad sticks together and we are all medic then it is pretty invincible against troops.
We just need to figure out a way to deal with armour

Re: Fly's squad rant
i disagree Paul, we NEED some sort of formation.
i KNOW it doesnt HAVE to be diamond, but if we DONT call it a formation, then i think the tendancy will be to not even stick together. the reason i call diamond, is because then we have a "front" of three, backed up by a dedicated medic at the back, and the three up front also have the ability to shoot at enemas from different angles.

Re: Fly's squad rant
Diamond, square, rectangle... whateva ya wanna call it sounds good. I think having a "formation" is a good idea for the simple fact that we will not be all bunched up together and get taken out so easily in one go.

Re: Fly's squad rant
The idea works on a flat barren surface but not on 3D playing field with obstacles. From playing games for 3-4 years everyone should have an idea of how far they should be from their squad. Yes there should be a medic somewhere near the back. If there are people who want to ACTIVELY work on their squad play then I will join and contribute but I have experienced a lot of frustration with previous efforts. I definitely disagree with a fixed squad format. Squad size varies and playing field dynamics varies.
