Something bad happened to me recently and I wanted to vent about the matter as I feel very frustrated and angered about it.
As some of you might know, I have recently taken a job at Anglo American and had given notice at the current company I worked for which is Eclipse Networks.
There has been rumors “Floating” about saying the company is in Financial strain.
Yesterday (On Payday) they sent a mail saying that the company is under Provisional Judical Management which as far as I understood the matter meant that they were 1 step short of liquidation. But they still however said the company would be fine and everyone would get payed.
This also meant I would be getting my pay late if at all….
I went to the bank and thankfully was able to secure enough money to be able to survive the coming month.
I went for a drink with workmates yesterday evening as clearly I needed a drink!
During this I was informed that the company was closing its doors due to the main debtor deciding not to give the company more credit and not wanting to help the company pay its employees first.(this according to the Judical letter was the last option for the company to stay open) So with it goes the company.
I have been screwed out of 14000 and will maybe only see a fraction of the money at some later stage.
But the worst was the havoc I saw when entering the company just after the whistle had been blown. I have lost money but will survive. But what of all the other almost 300 employees of this company spread across the company who now is out of a job and have lost how many years of service? Some of these people have become good friends during the time I spent here…
And so I have been told by people that this is just the way it goes and there is Fuggal anyone can do about the matter.
Suffice to say, I ended up drinking a lot more than I planned to last night.

Glad you got another job lined up. Companies rise and fall and the working man gets screwed (not in a kissing first, smoke after kinda way).
