Ionflux here

Post by Ionflux »

Nick: Ionflux
Name: Adrian
Age: turning 19
Location: Capetown
Why Grrr: Grrr needs a flux :p sycho:

My gaming history: Soooooo, where do I start. First FPS I played was doom when I was 7 years old. I played just about every fps there is from DukeNukem to UT99 to CS. I started playing competitively online when ut2k4 was released. Played BF2 with the nick CaptainKoekemoer as that was literately the only nick in the world left that wasn't taken. I am a webdeveloper and one of the admins @ PCBG. I was clan organizer for clan TA.

I like to play games at home. I don't go to competitions. I have been at Rage 2 times before. I prob won't go again, not because I don't like it there but I live to far away.

Ask away..

Kaapies, kaapies and more kaapies! :happy2:

I remember CaptainKoekemoer from BF2...

First question: Apart from us needing a flux, why [grrr]?

Second question: Rearrange the following words to make a sentence that is true about Candidate:

" a He's of wanker fucking note"

Third question: What are the key ingredients to human happiness?

Welcome to the insanity...

First impressions - cool kid trying to impress. There are other 'kid clans' around. You're young; 19. Our average age has to be in the mid 30's!

(You're going to have to convince me that you're a mature adult to swing my vote. Your answers haven't really been that impressive so far.
eg "Why not Grrr?" lol)

Why do you want to be a part of grrr? (I'll have to ask you to answer that one in a little more detail please.)
What makes you feel that you'll fit in at this clan?
What other interests/hobbies do you have other than computer gaming?

Look, I know behind your avatar you are just as normal as I am. I would love to be part of your clan because you guys don't have an ego like the others. I prob won't always be able to play with you guys because of financial problems. I might not always have an internet connection. I really don't even feel like proving myself. You guys seem to be into competitions, I don't mind that at all but I don't like being in them myself. I have been a gamer all my life, I'm good at it. Point stop.

If you guys feel I'm not hardcore enough to be in your clan, then so be it. If I'm not old enough, that's too bad. I have other things to worry about like Malema for example.

Don't take things the wrong way, fluxpant. The idea behind the application thread is to break you down so we can rebuild you as a zookeeper. That way we can lumber you with baby sitting Thor and Paul... :fact:

Nobody said you shouldn't be in the clan or that you aren't hardcore enough. We aren't that hardcore either.

The reason to our questions (which might seem a little offensive sometimes?)...
We are a group of friends outside of gaming. We'd like to know if/how you'd fit in with the rest of us.

Your detailed answer was appreciated, thanks m8.

I didn't mean to sound dramatic in my previous post so sorry if I did. By reading some of your threads here on the forums it got clear to me that you guys are all good friends. I have met one of your members a couple of months back. Don't ask me who his name is. Seemed like a really cool guy. My point is, I like what you guys got going here. One of the main reason's I wanted to sign up.

Hi ION

nice to see your application

who, what, when, why and how are you?
what is a hairy blender?

now for the serious stuff:
not every applicant gets in
not every new member feels like they are fitting in in the beggining.
one or two old member leave
BUT - having said that, we consider ourselves family first, then gamers, having fun and competing together.
we do not consider ourselves critically professional as we value our friendship above "having to win at all costs"

so you might not get in, dont take it personally (especially dont take it as a knock against your ability or character)
it might take us a lot longer to decide too let you in than say a few other applicants we know already (dont take it personally)
we will knock you, ride you, grill you and test you, dont take it personally, BUT it is a personal test to guage you fit to our knit

:ky:

EDIT - SQUAD WITH US and PLAY WITH US

Welcomin ION

First requisite is to join in the fun and squad and play with the guys/gals...

1. If you where to class yourself as a superhero who would it be and why?

2. Are you studying at the moment if so what?

3. If someone has said something to upset you how do approach the situation?

It's important to take the questions seriously as well as with a pinch of salt we are EXTREMELY particular in our selection criteria and we pride ourselves in having a core group of extended family members. We are a unique group of people and we pride ourselves in this.
