Social Media

Post by Thor_23 »

Guys so I have posted a thread regarding the recent spates of whatsapp users getting upset.

I haven't really given solid guide lines, but I have asked everyone to be more considerate. Please can I have your 2c regarding this? Is there something more that we/I can do regarding this.
Reality is that this is happening more frequently......

Thanks

I really don't have much to add except reiterating that people should really just be more considerate when they post. I think in Russy's case, he was ALWAYS the butt of almost every joke. Obviously, he reached his breaking point. It's a shame, really, he's a big part of this clan and I miss having him in the WA group. We all have our own personal problems and need to remember we don't know what someone else might be going through.

Have given this a lot of though recently and really think the SB app is the solution. People will automatically be more careful when they chat as it will appear on the sites front page. This should automatically eliminate a lot of the extreme items. Can't recall that we ever had similar problems when everyone was using the SB.

Also, I think people posting updates on Russy's FB(Him loving the D and wot not) was what really broke him. As its clearly in the public eye. That's why I incl the broader social media term.

Remember the golden rule... aka the law of reciprocity: Treat others as you'd like them to treat you... it's not just because people are not "tough enough", it's because they don't have to accept being treated with disrespect continually. Russian finally manned up, as far as I'm concerned.

(and yes, "manned up" is a sexist term, used ironically here... not because Juandre isn't a man, mind you :p )
