Good Evening Grrrbians...
Time to open up the floor to discussion about the "Elephant" in the room...
I'm going to raise two issues in this thread, and everyone is welcome to agree, disagree, debate, etc
The only rule is that it needs to be constructive so that we can resolve the matter,
there is no use in this thread degrading into a bitch fest... as nothing will come of it.
Issue 1: The family'ness of Grrr
When I joined Grrr the clan was mainly focused on BF and all things BF, there were a few people that played other games
but the majority of activity was around BF. As time passed things started to change, new games and new players,
and thanks to DICE for breaking BF4 we had a large shift in gaming mentality within the clan.
Phats did a great job at attempting to get the guys to experience new games together, possibly getting the clan into new areas of gaming
and teamplay.
More time passed and the CS:GO game took off well, which was great for the clan, however, it also swung the clan around to be more CS:GO focused
(with a couple of other games on the side) Tyger has held down the fort well with attempts to bring everyone together as a family, no matter the choice of game.
Now here is my view on this:
It shouldn't matter what game you play (no matter what your poison is) but the Grrr family comes first...
This is where the actual rift in the clan has formed (some are well aware of it, some are hoping it will go away if they don't talk about it)
No matter what your view on it... we now have the two distinct groups in the clan:
Group 1 : 'The oldies' - These are the players that care 70% about the Grrr family and 30% about the game they are playing
Group 2 : 'The young'uns' - These are the players that care 20% about the Grrr family and 80% about the game they are playing
Now i'm not saying that this is the fault of the clan leader(s), or individual player(s) or anything of the sort,
however it is up to everyone one of us to fix this rift... or risk the inward collapse / divide of Grrr!
My Suggestions:
- Recruitment needs to be split up in to two sections... if you pass the question phase you get a [grr_] tag, once you officially meet the Grrr family at rage
(or possibly an alternative meet) then you shall be upgraded to the [grrr] tag... as you are now one of us.
- For those already recruited and who we aren't really part of the Grrr family, we need to inform them of the new process (Possibly demote them to the [grr_] tag)
Your Suggestions?
(Remember... keep it constructive)
Issue 2: (the shorter issue) TeamSpeak - The use of chat
There is a growing number of players that no longer see the benefit of hoping onto TS... they simply log into their game of choice and go on their merry way.
I remember the days when it was difficult to get a word in as the TS was so busy, evenings of crazy laughter and the most random shit one could think of...
now i can log on and sit in TS by myself for hours on end... not a soul to be seen!
This issue has no fix that management need to implement, just a little bit of effort from each player...
When you are playing, hop onto TS and join your family.
If you are the only person in the channel for your game... come join the other channels and chat!
Conclusion... I have not been in the clan for as long as some of you furniture pieces, but i've been around long enough

I love the post morph. Writing this on my phone in doha and I totally agree with the activity of the players.
i do believe there is a separation in the guild between BF and other players playing their own games. But this is not the old days. Games are changing and people that used to be around have disappeared as you all freaking know personal shit.
now a quick fix could be delete all the channels in the TS server and everyone has to be in a couple channels. Another thing is can people fucking greet when they join the channels. I make an effort to say hi to people but you cocks join and jump into the BF or CS channel. So say hello!
the CS guys have made an effort joining a dgl league and even playing with Grrr logos on their steam accounts. So although Ed and Giftig have been away they in the CS go channel. Fucking say hello.
now their are new games coming out and I do believe in the future one game will unite 70% of us...but until then we need to help each other through personal shit and rather than banter take time to learn from people and say a hello.
i keep on pointing out the hello part because its fucking true. You can see eachother in TS so jump in a channel and talk about shit!!! Fucking hello.

kmckelvin = Nimbz - just to clarify.
I had a really kak start to the year but I'm on CSGO with the guys most nights these days.
Ecko's really active in the CSGO channels, see him pretty much every night.
The clan is 10 years old this year, I remember the days of BF2 with you guys, and how we'd sledge the CS community. But these days we're part of the CSGO community. Times have changed and we've all had new interests. For several years now grrr hasn't been a single-game clan. Keeping the community of it can't be game-centric since in our limited time we have all gone with a specific games. With us being geographically dispersed it also can't be meetup centric (with rAge being the exception).
I'd love to join for a regular (monthly? fortnightly?) BF4 night where we all jump on for some action, but I'd also enjoy an equally regular CSGO night where we do the same. It's something that the one heading up the team for each game should be able to organise fairly easily (just throw up a thread with a suggested date, and ping everyone on whatsapp to RSVP).
I wouldn't be playing CSGO if grrr wasn't into it. The fact that I'm drawn to a game by the people I can play alongside proves that there is still a strong family culture going here. We need to stop thinking along the game/age lines here. I believe to restore this to the standard that we're aiming for, we can start by just getting online with each other on a regular basis as I mentioned in the previous paragraph.

The entire sentiment of this thread has been a theme for several years guys - when you move from everyone having a single purpose competitive game, then throw in the towel with it, this will happen.
Big Kudos to the CSGO Team, they lifted the GRRR tribe banner high, so they should be commended.
To those who simply join the TeamSpeak channel, even if you're in a different channel - Kudos - you are being sociable, or at the very least easily reachable, if you dont even login to teamspeak then you are contributing to this Room Elephant(why are there footprints in my butter).
Basically, if you are not joining Teamspeak, not using the forum, not contributing socially to grrr in some manner, then YOU are the Elephant. The problem, the elephant, the general discourse is that there is a segregation, yes, those who make no attempt to be part of the group (pointing at CSGO and/or BF or any other game for that matter is a RED HERRING - not the root of the problem at all, take off them thar blinkers) can stand outside the circle shouting in if they like, but are feeling excluded because they are excluding themselves not because they are unwelcome to join the circle.
Entitlement generation where everything must come to you, rather than making the effort yourself.... meh -- this is the real plague
Anyway, my 2c can roll over
