Hi guys, we are in the process to resurrect an oldish game. Supreme Commander Forged Alliance. This is how it works.

1. We are a bunch of guys, ranging between 6 and 8 that enjoy a once a week night off and play SC-FA
2. It seems like we have agreed on Thursday evenings, between 20:00 and 00:00 for the game.
3. We have a ton of mods for the game, every week will be a different game and different format
4. The loser of this week choses the format for next week.
5. The guy that came second last, he has the mis forunte to select the map.

Based on point 4 above, assume you've been taken out by nukes, you could make it a rule that there will be no nukes allowed. Or you can say only certain units, factions, tech levels, can be loaded. You can select which mods you want to go with. Effectively, you determine the rules for next week's game. The guy coming second last, he has some say in the matter by selecting the map. (so assume you wanted to have a long game, playing on a very large map, then the guy coming second could screw you and pick a small map).

We will all be restarting the game after about a 7 month break, so even if you are new to strategy games, or SC:FA, you will not be too far behind. (make no mistake, you will be behind at first). However, the guys are quite pleasant and will tell you what went wrong and how you could improve on it. Ps, also, if you lose, you could set the game up for next week to work in teams or something...

any event, we have a few slots open, so if you are keen to give it a go, let me know and I will get you the SC:FA distro we are playing including all the mods and everything else. The image is about 12GB in size.

Great initiative to get guys involved in other games Denis!

This is a good opportunity for the RTS heads of the clan to get some good going. I am not one of those people unfortunately

We were wondering where you getting your gaming fix from Skoups :P

Planetary Annihilation is still there, but it is a bit expensive for some of the other guys that I play with to invest in. Supreme Commander was sold at one stage for something like R30, so I've bought a whole lot of legal copies, however the cracked version that we currently have is way more stable. (I do not endorse piracy, which is why I have bought a lot of copies when it was R30 a pop.)

Fire / Tyger, what is the easiest for me to get you a 12GB image to you? BTW, we've uploaded the image onto a german server already so you could download it as well.

Ok Tyger, we use something called BTSync that will keep all the guys images aligned and synced.

You can get the software here:

And then you can use the following READ key to get all the data;

Ice, Ice Baby, (you must have heard that song before?), unfortunately your steam version will not work because, well, yes, this is a community patched version which is a lot more stable than the official version.

See the post to Tierjtie, about how you could get the download, or alternatively, as we are close by, let's meet, (bring me a laptop or USB or something) and I can copy the file for you as well.
