This free to play game looks like a supersonic ground breaker and scene shaker!! Sign up for the beta here, you have nothing to lose in the last couple days before release. If you don't want to play please go on and register anyway to stand a chance to play now!

Once you register an account, you will need to verify it and take the survey about your PC and hope like hell for a beta key! Otherwise you can pay $39.99 for instant access or just wait for release. Obviously I am KEEEEEEN and have registered a while back, but have been unsuccessfully praying.

Who is interested in playing this in beta or in release? I'm sure noone has plans to buy the game since they would feel that the game is so close to release, just wait and get it for freez. So drop your name here and lets see if we can get some players in grrr and outside of grrr involved.

I'm not sure how it will be taken up in SA, but I'm sure a couple guys are thinking about it hoping someone will make it happen, we should! Apparently a community of 6000 will justify a locally hosted server, otherwise we will have to go to UK and that will probably be somewhat meh.

If you've played this already, I am too jelly for you. If you've posted about this before I'm sorry my memory is very short and I'm trying to push for more guys to get involved! Let's formalise this and get a whole section into the Games forum for more PlS2 sexy time posting!

I'd love to play this, but don't expect a community of 6000 players in SA (not even close IMO). As such it's going to be international gaming time. I'll give it a try regardless, but FPS with high ping sucks balls.

Its FREE TO PLAY!!! Must've skipped that part.

Preloaded it and am jamming it up. Pick server Miller - EU Region and choose VANU (Purple team). This game is incredible. Can't feel 200ms lag at all.

Only issue is optimization.. The game is still getting there, but with all low I can play with 60+FPS.

All in all, a great game to fill the time and incredibly complex / enjoyable.

Too many games, too little time!!

Would love to get into Planetside, but I'm not getting through the current MP games that I have - BL2, GW2, NS2 (and possibly a little BF3 as well).

I may download anyway, but there's no way that I could devote the time that this game deserves.

This game is AWESOME. Really enjoying it and will surely get at least 6 months play out of it.
Downloaded from Steam the night before last with no issues. Playing VS on Miller and am at rank 10 or something now.

Pro's
+ No idea how they got the hit-reg on, but even though I am playing on EU servers, I haven't noticed any hit-detection issues. Sure a bit of a lag spike here and there, but in 5 or so hours, nothing to complain about.
+ IMMERSIVE! Running into battle with 34 guys on the ground, 6 aircraft overhead and 4 tanks at the rear. Seriously.
+ 3 continents. That each hold a maximum of 2000 players at any given time.
+ Great balance so far between classes and vehicles.
+ Active developers. Check official forums / Reddit / Twitter. These guys are all over the show helping out and giving insights.
+ Incredibly complex. This game will take a shitlong time to learn and for me is wicked!

Con's
- Optimization is very poor at the moment. If you're getting above 60FPS constant with anything over low settings, you either have a R25k gaming rig or are very lucky. Guys with GTX690's and i7's at 5GHz are getting framerate issues even. Needs work, but the devs are on it.
- Character persistence and lack of account persistence. So you've played 10 hours and unlocked lots of gear with certs / SC (currencies, ingame and real money based) and now want to check another faction / server? Start from scratch.
- F2P model with micro-transactions. Unless you want to spend real cash, a lot of time investment to unlock slight upgrades. Not P2W though (pay to win).
- The need for an outfit (PS2's version of clans). You can really only lone wolf and squad hop for so long before wanting to be a part of a community.
- Incredibly complex. This game will take a shitlong time to learn and for some may not be wicked!

*edit: Guys, don't start a character on Miller. The server is kakking off at the moment. Try the other EU server. I may just start another character there as it seems like Miller is frekking.
