Re: Introducing myself
Ic3nFl4ame... ah, now I see you sig, it's obvious. Your the guy in the black pajama's. Ah, see, it all makes sense now.
Ok, Ic3nFl4me's questions:
1. Who is the resident clan douche? He/She is also referred to as a box...
Well, since Candidate seems to take the brunt of everything in this clan... I'm going to have to go with him. Am I right or am I right?
2. What was the first territory that Japan annexed in the early 1800's / 1900's?
From http://wgordon.web.wesleyan.edu/papers/imperialism.htm
Japan emerged in 1853 from two and a half centuries of self-imposed peaceful isolation... <snip>... Japan forcefully acquired three major foreign territories between 1894 and 1910: Taiwan in 1895 after the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-5; Korea as a protectorate in 1905 after the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-5, then as a colony when unilaterally annexed by Japan in 1910; and the Kwantung Leased Territories in 1905 in southern Manchuria when Japan succeeded to Russia's leases after the Russo-Japanese War. This section of the essay summarizes briefly the imperialistic expansion of Japan during the period
Ic3nFl4me... I have to ask. Why this as a question, besides the obvious Japan/Ninja fetish you have.
3. What would be the most interesting conversation you have ever had and why?
I'm not sure what is the most interesting converstation I've ever had, nothing springs to mind.
But that vein, there was this girl I dated about ten years ago for the period of a month. She had an IQ of 168. I was the one who broke it off, as she was a serious coke addict (not the cola kind) and although I always felt something akin to an adrenaline rush around her, as I tried to keep up with her mentally, but in the end I just couldn't stand the destructive path she was on with her bad habbits (coke being only one of them).
Some of the things she said to me and some of the questions she asked me, have left me wondering just exactly what was going on in her mind or what was she aware of, that I wasn't at the time. They still perplex me to this day and I wish I could meet her again to ask her some questions. She was really quick mentally. Only once did I manage to catch her by suprise with the speed and level of inteligence of my answer. I had a prepared retort in case she asked me a certain type of question, and when she finally did, I managed to answer back immediately and the look of suprise on her face, was all I needed to know that I had succeeded finally in reaching her level, if only for a second.
She is the only girl I have ever spent a decent amount of time with, that has left such an impression on me and left me with so many questions. It was because of her that I learnt to value inteligence in a girl, over looks.
4. The lesser of which evil... McDonald's or KFC?
Well, since McD's meat is like 50% cardboard, I'd have to say I prefer KFC, although KFC's battery farming leaves me ill at ease in my stomach.

Re: Introducing myself
Ok murgs, here is a slightly more serious question.
What are your feelings on drugs? Obviously you don't like Coke heads but are you totally against it or just those real addicts who know nothing but drugs?
The reason I ask is that there are some members in grrr who are prone to lets say recreation. No one here is a an addict that sells their blood to pay for their next fix but we are relatively liberal round these here parts.

Re: Introducing myself
NightShade's question.
1. Besides gaming, what do you do to relax?
Well, nowadays, not too much since I'm not earning a nice big salary to allow me to do all sorts of things, like I did in the past when I was working as a computer programmer.
I don't watch tv. I used to, mainly for the news, but over the past several years, I've come to see just how much propoganda and lies there are on tv, due to being able to dig deeper into things with the internet. So I gave up on tv.
I tend to watch quite a few movies and tv series on my pc (I gave my tv away to my dad). I rent them down at the local dvd rental shop.
From time to time I get in the reading mood. Science fiction tends to grab me nowdays, although there arn't that many science fiction books being written anymore compared to the few past decades. The whole sword and sorcery genre seems to have taken over in the last two decades. I also read non fiction books, but they tend to be history books or current events books, mainly focusing on areas im considering investing in. For instance, I read a 1400 page book on the history of oil production as part of my research before I decided to buy myself some sasol shares.
But computers have been my main interest in life since I got a Zx Spectrum back in '82 and my first IBM PC clone back in '87. I taught myself to program in Basic on the Zx Spectrum and moved onto pascal and onwards with the pc. I'm pretty much a pc geek/guru.
Aside from pc's, I spend a lot of time on the internet following economic and political news and looking into "conspiracy theories" as I try to understand more of just what exactly is going on in this world.

Re: Introducing myself
Regarding drugs...
Well, from the ages of 16 to 24 I used to spend a lot of my evenings out drinking with friends. For several years that followed that, I spent that the time rather enjoying recreational pharmacuticals. I.e. e / weed / a / coke / crack / shrooms / meth and a few others. So I've been around the block.
Last few years tho, I've been off drugs. They definitely had a negative effect on my life in some areas even if they didn't totally control me unlike what happens to some people.
I have no problem if people do drugs. It's their choice, just like it was mine. But I personally am glad I managed to eventually escape their influence in my life. I'm still stuck with my nicotine habbit. Haven't managed to break that yet.

Re: Introducing myself
Hi PMurgs
Sorry for the late questions, I've been away for a week and have a load to catch up on.
1. What are your views on SIM, MSM and SBK and why?
2. What scale was your girlfriend's IQ measured and how do you know? What is Paul's IQ?
3. You like Jessica Alba? WTF? She is as thick as they come! Defend that statement.
4. What is the infamous desease typically caused by an anomoly in the 17th chromosone?
5. What is the optimum trajectory to launch a golf ball for maximum distance?
6. Since you are in shares, who is the hollywood actres posing on Sun International's annual financial statements?
