As far as the evening entertainment goes, I always used to be partial to vibey Mexican restaurants (back in the day there was Rattlesnake Diner, Cantina Tequila, etc.). Places that offer upside down Margheritas, Tequila Slammers and Body shots. Dunno if those places still exist/are any good any more?
For the daytime stuff, I'll give it some thought. For me though, it's best not to plan the entire day and night around drinking. As I normally don't drink, I'd be lucky to make it to the end of the day without fading. And having experienced J0no's capacity for alcohol, I doubt he'd make it to lunch time. Of course at the opposite end of the scale we have Lee, who's still walking after drinking enough alcohol to down a rugby team...

Mexican restaurants nowadays would be Fat Cactus in Little Mowbray or Panchos in Obs. Both of those do Margeritas, tequila shots, chilli poppers etc.

As far as nightlife entertainment goes the 2 hot spots in cpt is Edward street in Tygervalley and long street in CBD.
Edward street had a bigger variety when I was last there. CBD's places like Chrome tend to have a more formal dress code.
As for the cantina tequila, there still was one in bloubergrant(tableview) close to the beachfront.
You can also try a cubana cigar lounge's, they tend to also be nice. There is a couple of them all over cpt. Blaauberg, clairemont etc
but if you are going out on a Saterday then Stellenbosch is busy but its more of a younger crowd(Varsity students)
Lastly, La Med is a club/restaurant on clifton beach and is usually very busy on Sundays(Havent been there on a Saterday yet) has a very capetown vibe to it and isnt very uptight and is more laid back. Personally really like this place.....

There is places all over that is nice depending what your looking for. There is also a Stones in Obz that is packed with pool tables

Denis is (understandably) quite keen on this idea. However, it would mean all of the out of towners bringing PC's with them to CPT, which I'm sure that they wouldn't be all that keen on? Denis has a couple of PC's, but not enough for everyone.
