My initial 2 cents:
Disband the GRRR whatsapp group and insist that people communicate via this website. Get the shoutbox going again as the primary discussion zone for clan activity and kak talking.
Also, be patient at this time of year, Grant. As mentioned above, end of Jan is when things settle back into a rhythm.
No drive, no support and no love

Yea, Ed is around. ED and giftig should be making deposits....So I am happy with that.
Stu, I think we can keep it on a down low that he is not paying. I think the clan leader and some founders can maybe pay R10 to R20 more every month. I will be putting in alot more with my new job FIST PUMP.
I think the ideas are great, but I think alot more people are active now, you guys were right by saying people go quite during JAN. With Battlefield coming out later this year things will pick up
I still think we should stay some where different this year for rage, even if we stay in harties and people take a drive to go to rage and come back. some thing where we out in the open. making this a clan decision will confuse people...So I think we can come up with great ideas founders and such. I would also like to plan little gift packs for this years rage but Jarrod and I will discuss this secretly.
I dont think giving people games and such will work with the spirit of things however, I do believe we can start being more creative with the money. We are receiving a lot of money at the moment and maybe we can invest some of it to earn interest because as you know STU and ION are going through some rough times STU as we all know and ION might be losing his job this week...maybe some ideas from our money hoarders?.

Sorry to necro this thread again, but I would like to chip in for what it's worth.
Personally, I feel like [grrr] should look into using Discord. Yes it has it's own problems, but it is free. Teamspeak is really great, but if money is the big concearn and Teamspeak is a big contributor to that, then there are alternatives. If we adopted it, there may also be less gripe about new people appearing on it and, who knows, maybe more applicants.
In terms of the website, I think it still has a very important and valuable place. The low usage is not really the fault of the website or the design, which Duck has worked very hard on for a long time, it's simply that people want to use WhatsApp as a Shout Box. That's fine, but we still need to use the forum for our governance and scheduling activity.
As for membership fees in general: I personally have no problem paying, but I know many people like me struggle to keep track of what is required and when they last paid. So I think communicating more around what the "budget" is for the year ahead and what our contributions must be would make things easier.
Money is tight for everyone right now and I think we need to do our best to keep fees as low as possible and have an open conversation (at least with the Clan leader) in terms of what the "budget" will be used for. I don't know what Grant was wanting to subsidise, but this is part of the problem. Let's discuss these things openly.
When it comes time to do collections, let's pass the plate around and get it done. It's a lot like taxes. Our tax system needs to be 1. efficient, 2. understandable, 3.equitable and those who benefit should pay for those benefits. On that basis, if you don't pay, you don't benefit. Otherwise said, if you don't benefit, you don't pay either.
Payment should be made in full up front at the conclusion/agreement of the budget. If people don't pay, then we should chase them to understand why. If it's just a delay, we can tolerate that to some extent, but if there is no willingness to pay then there can't be any freeloading.
I've long wanted to bring up the discussion around membership "grades" to address this issue. For example: all members should have to pay a very low rate for website etc. If you are attending rage, you should pay in for that as a "Rage 2017 Member". If you play comp and there are fees, then you should be a "CS:GO Comp Member" and pay for those fees.
I know I have been absent for a long time and am very out of the loop, but I hope this is useful. If you need someone to do some legwork on this I'm happy to help.
