Hi Guys and Lady,
I am really feeling negative towards Grrr at the moment. Straight to the point:
Adults beg for change and want to do more for Grrr but complain more then Mary poppins at a cult festival.
The facts are, people want GRRR to start doing more and changing however they can not contribute R50 a month. And as much as I like Mark willing to pay for STU. STU can offered to go to America with some spending money, however can not afford R50. Not just pick Stu out as we have invited people for the CS:GO team however their only contribution has been sitting in our TS which GRRR pays for. It is not fair that they can still use our facilities even though we have not met them face to face?. If I had to kick people out the clan for non payment then they should not use GRRR's, If I dont have to pay and still be allowed to all the GRRR events and such then why should any one pay.
My solution for people that do not pay, they get placed in arrears with GRRR and they still owe that money and will be pressured to pay. We can not say they can start paying R50 now and call it quits, it is not fair to the people that have been paying, else we might as well refund everyone that has paid. I am a man of fairness.
Next Topic:
Every one said they want to start doing more outings and changing it up, it is fucking impossible to get adults out of their comfort zone. each and every member of GRRR even you founders complains that places are tooooo far to drive or can not decide on a date or dont even show up to forums or whatsapp to contribute any thing. So why should I lick peoples arseholes to do any thing, I plan golf days and get togethers and ever just ask politely to contribute on whatsapp(share photos and invite people when you go out, if you can). However every thing falls through because GRRR people are so damn lazy. People that complain that they overburdened at work is a fucking joke, I work constantly but still find time to contribute some thing or plan some thing.
So my final words are, why should the leader go to all the efforts to plan and lift people off their fat arses when they can not even assist you with a hand gesture.
I feel like I am getting no support from anyone, and every one thinks it will be better when battlefield 5 comes out...please man we all deviated already...So much for family.
No drive, no support and no love

I am not sure what to say to you... except welcome to being leader, a trying task of licking peoples ass and getting nothing from it. As you are finding out.
I am also not sure what to do about it. We have all tried in the past with varying degrees of success. The truth is people will stay in there comfort zone, they will do the bare minimum because that is the nature of people.
There is very little vested interest in doing more, simply because oks are here to play a few games, talk a bit of shit and thats it.
The idea of having a new leader every year is supposed to help with that, and it does to a degree, but it also just makes that leader jaded going forward.
We could try force people some more. Make everyone responsible for setting something up, leading a team, organizing a get together, promoting a new game. But once again, some guys will, some guys will not.
I mean even you last year were supposed to lead the Bf team, but quit just as it got started.... and you wonder why i got pissed off?
I myself could of done more.
As for the money. Well yes it would be good to kick oks who don't want to pay out and who don't give a shit. But it will also alienate people even further.
Its a catch 22.
I think for sure an ok like Ed, has made no effort to meet anyone, snubbed us at every turn and you yourself said he would never pay to be part of a clan.
Well in my mind... FUCK THAT GUY... but hey thats just my opinion.
Stu... well stu has been going through a rough time. I know he cares. Have you emailed him about it?
So this is tough Grant really tough. I dont know what the solution is.... i dont think there is a specific solution.
But to keep trying, dont give up and stay positive.
If you need backing, just say so. I will back you all the way on what ever you decide.
Lets see what the other guys have to say.

Ok, good discussion.
I have some thoughts and ideas.
Human nature is wanting to get something from putting something in. So how do we make contributions work, how do we make being more social and active work?
Incentivise.
Here's my suggested program.
The Grrreat Social Rewards Program
1. Pay your monthly contributions qualifies you as an entrant. (if 20 contributions come in at R50 thats about R1000 pm)
2. Create a Panel - Admin Group and Founders can be this panel
3. Identify Qualifying attribute - Social event - Be it real life or Online participation event (with social being the focus)
4. Each Month - Someone is identified as the Winner of the Social Award and wins a STEAM GAME of up to R500 ? (we can tinker with this value a bit should we need to, just a first pass.)
5. Forum Ribbons and medals are collected for each event for each candidate each month and then removed at the start of the next month to reset. - Can create a further Ribbon to indiate previous Social Winner.
There we have it.
So yeah, theres my first idea we could try. I was initially thinking we give away an Indie game each month ..... which might be cheaper and help the fund become less drained from teh initiative, lets discuss it.

Yeah - pay R100 means two entries for the price of one - but it's double qualifier, you pay but "set up a social game event" still needs to happen. . . just paying doesnt get you a win, you need to be social
** I would suggest this a GRANT (Clan Leader) initiative - if we all agree to it obviously - but seeking that "what a good leader" "what a great idea leader" response.
Rather get Leader inspiration methinks, to get us moving forward

Glad you posted Grant, as harsh as it is.
Regarding payments:
Kick them. We agreed LONG ago guys - to be fair, it should've happened sooner but has been avoided for the past 6 months. I also had a fucking tough year.
1. Send a PM on [grrr] site.
2. Give them a week to deposit R100.
3. Kick if they don't pay.
People may not pay for others. The kindness is noted, but Grant has stated the above. It creates too much of a "special case" and you cannot do that.
Regarding Teamspeak, I don't know what the solution is. Should we kick certain people, we could lose as much as 8 regulars on our TS so its a tricky one.
Regarding activities/meet ups:
I am partially to blame here for not attending. The time of year makes things tricky. I for one am tired. Between seeing family and not actually being away on holiday at all, I really don't feel like doing much.
The main issue is pleasing everyone. You will never get that right. Something must be locked in and people will come - if they don't toughies - should "golf" for arguments sake not work, then whoever it doesn't work for can try book something else. It works all ways.
I agree with Duck regarding incentives - it could help quite a bit. It will need to be trialed though as imho R500 is way too much per month. Maybe quarterly or 3 times a year, otherwise make it much less and more often.
I would really like to see some of the older guard's thoughts here. To be honest, a lot of guys have faded into obscurity and this is the time to speak up. Not pointing fingers, but this clan is at a serious crossroad right now.

Hey Grant, I feel your frustration. Getting the grrr bus moving in a fixed direction is maddening at times, especially when there's no 'one game to rule them all' as there was with BF. One thing to be aware of too is that the last quarter of the year (post rAge) is always a low time for clan activity. There's no comps happening, and people are focused on getting to the end of the year and their holidays. Usually, by the end of Jan things are back into a rhythm again.
Personally I agree with most of what's said above.
1. No pay, then kick. Everyone can afford R50 a month.
2. Lee's social gaming activity comp is a great idea.
On the activity side, I must confess that I'm lost my gaming mojo quite significantly in the last couple of years. I'm definitely one that's lost touch with the clan, and am not contributing much at all. I just hope that sometime soon a game comes along that makes me want to play MP again. I'm hopeful for Overwatch, but there have been a few that I've been hopeful for over the years that just haven't grabbed me.
I'm still here, I've been in the clan for ten years, and everyone is still very important to me. I'm just not in the online gaming frame of mind right now. I will make more of an effort though, as the social activities start happening. And if there is anything I can do to help out, just let me know.

Grant I think everyone who has taken the reigns of this clan has started off with great ideas only to become disillusioned by the lack of enthusiasm from the mob.
Xmas is a particularly quiet time as people go on holiday or simply awol. As a traditional BF clan we are also between titles so that is another contributing factor to the current vacuum.
My views on many of the issues at hand are not popular, I will refrain from repeating myself and simply urge you to gather opinions from the clan on which of you ideas are likely to take hold.
You have a great energy to you, keep having fun and causing kak.
