Cricket WC Fantasy League

Hey guys and gals -

As we all now, the Cricket World Cup is starting in a week and a bit, and I thought it a good idea to get a Fantasy league going for the tournament.

There is a web hosted fantasy tournament structure already, so I created a grrr league that we can all join. In order to get involved, you need to do the following:

1. go to http://www.ultimatedreamteams.com/site/current-games/item/36-cricket-world-cup-fantasy-league.html
2. Register yourself as a team manager
3. Join the the grrr league with the following number – 7066857537257
4. Choose your team!

In order to make things interesting, I'd like to propose that we sponsor a free PC game for the winner - paid for from the slush fund. Effectively, the player with teh highest score at the end of the comp can choose any game that they like, provided that it's available on Steam. The Slush fund will then buy the game for the winner.

I'd also like to open this up to the SGS community, to stir up a little interest and community goodwill. Any objections?

I won't be participating as I know absolutely nothing about Cricket! I didn't even know the World Cup was starting. :P

How long do we have Jarrod? I say lets keep this in house for now but if there isn't enough interest then we open it up to the rest of SGS

I figured we won't get a huge amount of interest from within the clan, maybe 10 peeps at best. If we open it up, there will be a much larger pool of participants. Also, I think it'll be a good thing to get the community involved.

The WC strarts on the 19th IIRC, so teams will need to be finalised before then. I'd like to give everyone enough time to put their team together though...

There like a bear with the best team everrrrrr. Is there a feature to see other people's teams? Or is it only after the tournament starts?

Not sure. Clearly you can't see people's teams yet, but I hope that it'll be available once the tourney gets underway.

Anywa, still wanting opinions as to whether I should open this up to the community or not?

Maybe open it up to ppl/clans we know and like. BBh, Vovo, SpeedyRSA, ScicoPanties etc. Give the grrroupies an invite first before we get RandomRSA from SGS involved.
