[grrr] BC2 Server Cancellation

Hey all,

Jarrod brought up a good point tonight about cancelling our BC2 server. It costs R600.00 a month and we are not using it. If we wanted to get another server in future (maybe next year if we are sticking with BC2), it only costs R300.00 as a set up fee. So, overall, we'd be saving money anyhow.

So those of us that are contributing to the Slush Fund, what do you think about cancelling the server for now?

I have not contributed to this so I don't really have a say but I think it is a good idea. BC2 is kind of dying, what not even a year after.

All the servers that are active are hardcore so I don't see us using it much in the future

Good morning Wayne,

I just wanted to let you know that it is the intent of GRRR to terminate our server rental from the end of this month.

As it is currently a hiatus period in competitive BC2, we are currently not using our server at all. We are also unsure as to whether or not BC2 will continue in the new year. With this in mind we have decided to save the R600 monthly fee that we are paying for our server rental over the next few months at least.

Should BC2 continue as a competitive title in the new year, or should we decide to move our focus on to another game, we will most likely engage with Hypegamez again to host a server for the 2011 season.

Thank you for the service that you have provided, despite having a few issues with our server over the period of our rental Hypegamez has certainly been quite to implement diagnostics and fixes once these issues have been raised.

We look forward to competitive gaming in 2011, and will be in touch then with regards our server requirements.

Perhaps COD will be the next best thing and we can put grrr money into a server that will have more than 4 ppl playing at once
