Supreme Commander – Forged Alliance

My first tournament I am arranging, so comments and feedback will be welcome. I am thinking of making this a very long tournament with the finals only being played late the Saturday evening or the Sunday morning depending on the number of players.

The format will be 1 vs 1
Map size: = 40km (map randomly drawn from a hat)
No rush = 20 minutes
All units enabled
Nukes enabled
Ultimate domination – you need to kill ALL the other guys units
Only one game per round
First round is a grading game
The second round on wards, it is knockouts
Ps, I will be bringing a “lan” copy for the comps

I will work out the roster based on a swiss pairing system, and based on the number of entrants. In summary though, the first competition will just be a grading game, but thereafter, if you lose again, you are out. I’ll explain this in more detail later.


With regard to a prize, I am thinking of getting one of the following, but haven’t made up my mind as yet. Let me know which one you would like when you sign-up and I will take your preference under advisement…

1. A keyboard (G15 or something along those lines)
2. A mouse (G500, G9, or something along those lines)
3. An internal hard drive (2TB or 1.5TB)
4. An SSD (< 60GB)
5. H50 or H70 Corsair water cooler (fits pretty much all CPU’s)
6. A computer case (remember, I have a trailer)
7. BT-games gift voucher
8. Some other computer goodies
9. Something non computer related

at R27 / copy (yes, I bought more than one, but already sold them all off barring my own copy).

Though I have the original, I will distribute the "lan" version for the simple reason that the "lan" (read-cracked) version is a lot more stable and causes less irritation than the legal version. It is really sad when pirated games are better and more stable than the originals. If you all like the game, I would suggest that you do go out and buy a copy for yourself after Rage because it does make for an epic strategy game.

Yeah it's out of stock and I've got ALL the other games in that PACK - so it would REALLY be a waste of money... will keep lookin around tho
