:fact:

Everyone signing up for this, please note that by putting your name down for this weeks game, you're also signing up for two practice friendlies on Thursday, as well as at least one internal strats practice on Tuesday or Wednesday. If you can't commit to these, please put your name down as a reserve, not for first choice team selection.

:thanks:

PS - To the team captain and squad leaders (i.e. the selection committee): Please can we have this weeks team list published by the end of the day tomorrow, thereby allowing the preparations to start from tomorrow evening.

Good luck to all, and let's give NSD a damn good rodgering... :moon:

Question for you all, I am thinking about a strategy for the game this week and is curious as to who our best UAV pilot is, and also, how good is he/she?

In other words, should we make the UAV part of the strategy or is that just going to be a distraction for the rest of the game? A good UAV pilot is able to keep the enemy pinned down while infantry takes them out. On this particular map, an exceptional UAV pilot will be able to take down armor, quickly and efficiently as well.

If I am not mistaken, the UAV site is too vulnerable for long term use. A shot from the tank and you can destroy the shield and then site on the UAV console behind.
Tactically I am thinking we try for 3 bases and use mines, sending two large squads to the 2 central flags and letting the armour cap the closest flag on the way through to laying suppressing fire. My thinking is to use our armour from distance and let troops fight on the front line, laying down mines to restrict their armours movement.

The UAV is only vulnarable if the enemy have access to "D". If you are unable to get "D" and the enemy is on the UAV, then the UAV can actually cause a lot of danger.

I'll post a proposed strategy tonight, but in summary, you are right, armor can not be on the front lines, they are just too vulnarable.

The one thing that I would like us all to think about, is hiding spots from where we (read NINJA's) could steal enemy armour quicker. There was a time in yesterday's match (in the second round) that the enemy did not use their armour and it was standing in the base, we had about a 20 second window of opportunity, but unfortunately we did not had anybody close enough to quickly steal it. When Chaos noticed it, he send somebody back and they reached it before I think it was Voetsek could. I think had we been able to obtain their armour, the outcome could have been slightly different.

Panama canal, with 6 pieces of armour, stealing armour effectively could be a deciding factor against the team that is currently ranked number 1 in the pool.
