My thinking is ...
If your name is not on yet. Put it on NOW!! We need as many people at practice as we can get. And then it is up to the squad leaders to pick the best side for the match.
And if you/me/anyone does not make the team. Stick around for the Resistance. :snipe:

I'd like to be in, but I expect to be reinstalling my pc tomorrow with new hardware. If things dont go well, I could miss a practise or absolutely worst case, the match on sunday.

In order to get the team settled for the games this week, it makes sense to have the SL's chosen and picking their squads today. Then we can prac tonight and be ready for the SGS game tomorrow.

I don't understand why we only have 9 candidates for the this weeks game. There are a good few names missing:

j0nny
IcenStu
Odi
Fly
Grav
The Ermelo brothers (not sure what their nicks are now)

I've not listed Greg or Phatso above, because the former hasn't got a connection, and the latter has officially withdrawn from competitive BC2. Everyone else on the list... I'm disappointed. I know that the sign-ups were only posted yesterday, but we're in the middle of a league season, I expect everyone to check the forums at the beginning of every week to see what the team arrangements are. And if you can't do this for any reason, please let Lee know in advance.

This is a big game, one of the biggest for us. BBH are our old rivals, I'd expect to see the biggest turn out from [grrr] for this, or at least to have people excusing themselves if they can't make it. So far, no-one has said that they CAN'T make the game for whatever reason.

If we want to have any hope as a competitive BC2 team, we need more commitment from our members.

Anyway, over to you for team selection Lee...

The reality is that of course real life comes first, for all of us. However, this is held up as an excuse way too often for people not keeping abreast of what's going on.

At the moment, we're in the middles of a league season, wherein we are expected to play a match every week. We did not do well in the last leg of the league, and that's not going to improve if we don't show more commitment and desire.

I'll use myself as a case in point. Over the last couple of weeks, I was travelling all over the middle east. Despite this, I still made a point of checking the forums every day, and responding to threads posted by Lee in relation to games/practices, even if only to rule myself out because of my travels. If I can do that, i expect that everyone else can as well. Clearly there may be circumstances that will prevent that, but they should be special circumstances (e.g. broken internet, away on holiday without a PC), and often these can be dealt with by letting the team captain know in advance.

If we want to compete in this game, we need better commitment from all players. If as a player you do not want to commit to the team, let us know (as Phatso did). At least that way, we can plan to ensure that we have sufficient active players to make this league a reality.

I seriously dislike being in a clan that underperforms due to a lack of preparedness. If we get beaten by a more skillful team that's one thing, but to lose games because we are not properly prepared, that's not acceptable.

And the only way that we will be properly prepared is to know who the team is very early in the week, and have a couple of practices through the course of the week.

I'm not having a go at you here Fly, this comment applies to everyone who is registered for the Danglers team, including those of us who did sign up early. We all need to remain steadfast in our commitment to the team and the league.

BTW, I know that there are people that can't access the forums from work, as such I don't expect responses in a few hours. However, a 24 hour response I feel is fair and reasonable.

Is anyone else experiencing extremely slow loading times on this forum? As in, every other webpage I go to is super fast and then this one takes 1-2 minutes to open each thread? Anyways, looks like the ADSL here is all sorted after a couple of firewall gremlins, so I should be around more than I have been the past few weeks.

Well, I dunno what the plan is for tonight, or if the squads have been decided or what, but my pc is very stable (even more than before it's "opperation"), so I'm available if needed.
