There was quite a bit of energy into this, a bit sad that it fell flat.

There hasn't been a "sorry, we're out" message. It just kinda died. I did follow up with Martina few times, he kept saying that there were still opportunities, and at last check he was working on a 'new arrangement' that didn't involve the print medium. He was supposed to get back to me on that a few weeks ago, but I've heard nothing from him at all.

His last emails was in relation to my last email to him (I've quoted it earlier in this thread if you want to recap):

Ok I realise you and Clan must be biting at the keyboard to get things moving and yes there have been a few internal, let’s say disagreements, and in particular the incorporation into the print side of things, now this put a spanner in the works for me as the incentive for the various sponsors was based on the exposure through print, online, you guys and establishing our very own Lan game at the Digital Life Expo, of which the later was also questioned. This being said, and that my focus is to sell rather than to establish, perhaps we start small and hopefully be grow from there, so with this in mind, the following is my plan B.

Potential sponsors :

ASUS – Probable product supply
Samsung – Probable product supply
Play – Few Rands and lots of Play energy drink
Kulula/Mango – possible flights
Pinnacle – parts gadgets etc

There are a number of other potentials which need to be pitched based on the Plan B exposure.

Plan B will be focused online, so blogging, reviews hosting all online etc.

I will formulate a new schedule based on plan be with Launch date end May and I know time is running but I am still confident of pulling it together and will be in contact within next week.

I'll fire off another email to him today or tommorrow, and we'll see if anything comes back. Although, considering that it's been almost a month since I last heard from him, I'm going with the assumption that this opportunity is over.

its not all bad new at the moment

Martin phoned me on friday afternoon (yesterday) and apologised for the delay in getting back to me.
he says that there is still interest and meetings with Look and Listen, Iburst, Asus and Play (energy drink). I may even be in on the meeting with iburst this coming week, still to be confirmed. He also committed to setting out an email for our benefit early this coming week.

Part of his explanation is that some directors are not seeing the benefit we can bring the print side of "my digitallife", and they are pushing him to "get more sales".

I still hold hope that something will happen, and look forward to the outcomes of the Iburst meeting.

I can see where they are coming from, but I think we could also push a lot to do some proper reviews on gadets etc. I've been reading the printed copy now for several quarters and there is only a handful of authors / reviewers there.

Martin phoned me today again, i guess because he hasnt had much chance to put an email together.
the upshot was that:
1) he needed one more sig, which i have sent to him
2) he has some art work he will send to drag and me in a few days.
3) he is having a meeting with Asus tomorrow and hopes for a positive response.

Hello Guys



Apologies for keeping ye all in the dark but as mentioned to Mike in our chat last week mike I have had some resistance internally as to the fit with the Brand “some people go figure” but in the pursuit of what will start of small, is still possible I do still believe this will not only assist my brand, your Clan and the industry as whole, I have had to settle for an online association at this stage which is a start and will be presenting to a few interested sponsors over the next two weeks or so, with the first being ASUS which takes place tomorrow at 2.

I have been playing with a number of ideas and come up with some creative for you to have a look at in the meantime.
