Thanks, I can work with this list :)

I'll list the kits with my suggestion of squad formation/roles when I'm at home later today...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Player * Role
- Grav * Armour (Engineer), Infantry (Medic)
- j0nny * Recon/Assault/(Engineer)
- Icen * Assault, Medic, Engi - not to comfortable with Recon
- Leppy * Armour (driver), Assault, Medic, Engi
- Phatso * Assault, Engi, Medic, Recon
- Lee * Assault, Engi, Medic, Recon (I use M14 across all kits - kit depends on requirement: Armour takedown/Plasters/Ammo/Bleepers)
- Mega * Assault, Engi, Recon, Armour support.
- Fly * engi, assault (in that order) am slowly trying to get the unlocks for the medic
- Shadey * Assault, Engi, Medic (not very comfy yet with Recon). Also, still trying to pick my best guns in each class. Default is usually G3 though.
- Drag * Medic, Assault, Engy, Armour second
- Voetsek * Assaul/Eng/Medic/Armour

Rules seem to indicate we play with 2 squads. As only 2 squad leaders may spawn before round starts, I suggest we start with j0nny/Lee.

They spawn and go through the whole "live" routine (as long as they're comfortable with the whole routine).

Armour Squad (create squads on Left Hand Side of the squad lists)

- Lee * Assault, Engi, Medic, Recon (I use M14 across all kits - kit depends on requirement: Armour takedown/Plasters/Ammo/Bleepers)
- Drag * Medic, Assault, Engy, Armour second

- Leppy * Armour (driver), Assault, Medic, Engi
- Grav * Armour (Engineer), Infantry (Medic)

Target: To move in, take their armour down. We need to work together and target their armour as priority. Once armour is down, we head into their base and capture the armour. We work as one unit and once we have their armour, we assist our infantry squads with our armour, keep their armour out of reach and long-range defence.

Infantry Squad (create squads on Right Hand Side of the squad lists)

- j0nny * Recon/Assault/(Engineer)
- Phatso * Assault, Engi, Medic, Recon
- Mega * Assault, Engi, Recon, Armour support.
- Reserve

Target:
Move around the map and capture/defend flags. I don't expect to be in the infantry squad, so I will leave the infantry management for the guys in the infantry squad.

We have many squads to choose from. If we keep the LHS squads for armour guys and RHS for infantry, it will make it easier if someone makes a call to boost the one or the other. Just click on squads, join the guys who need the help. Easy reference.

I've tried to pick our strongest 7 players and left 1 slot in reserve to rotate with players. Of course, I don't expect everyone to be available for each match or for the above squads to stay the same. I suggest taking the most active guys and putting them into the teams. I've included myself into the armour squad based on requests from other players. I'm willing to sit out on request too and without any bad feelings at all! Let us know if you have circumstances that mean you need to play in this/a particular clannie.

Reserves (Depending on availability for matches etc)
- Shadey * Assault, Engi, Medic (not very comfy yet with Recon). Also, still trying to pick my best guns in each class. Default is usually G3 though.
- Fly * engi, assault (in that order) am slowly trying to get the unlocks for the medic
- Icen * Assault, Medic, Engi - not to comfortable with Recon
- Voetsek * Assaul/Eng/Medic/Armour

I also think its a good idea for Shadey and Lep to play together in clannies as their comms will be so much more fluid. Its up to Shadey to decide when she's feeling in form and ready for a match. Confidence plays a bit part in clannies for everyone.

Comments/Rants welcome!

Thanks Grav, pretty good plan.

I think we need to refine this somewhat though.
While taking out the enemy Armour and/or capturing theirs is extremely useful in dominating, I think what we need to keep in mind is that we will be playing against a lot of ex-COD players who will have bigger and possibly better Infantry Squads.

Here's some notes.

The Rules stipulate a start with 2 squads, but once live there is no limit - so far as i can tell.
So a start with 2 people spawning is mandatory and a screenshot needs to be taken by both.

I think commiting 4 players to an Armour squad may be overkill.

3 Players should be the MAX all engineers so that each can repair, the gunner in a tank is protected whilst a gunner in a bradley is open to enemy fire

With 3 commited to Armour, that leaves 5 for Infantry to move in and cap and then LEAVE someone to defend/spawnpoint-for-defence

Amour and Infrantry squads should ALWAYS stick together, this is our best chance to hold tickets.
Ticket bleed is fairly low in BC2 so defending is more important than capturing.

Capturing will always result in casualties.

So if at all possible, we move for a 2 flag cap (on a 3 flag map) and defend on any map rather than a full cap-out since cap-out has almost no benifit, rather it will weaken your defence considerably and likely lead to uneccesary ticket loss as flag is overrun by a strong force.

We must try keep this game fluid, attempting to specialise is good to a degree but everyone should be proficient with assault and medic.

So, bottom line. CAP 2 and HOLD. When moving for a CAP - ALWAYS do so with Armour.

Let's keep discussing this, since opinions are going to vary and I think everyone must have their say. Some of us may have excellent ideas that may not work, hells bells, maybe all of mine are shite, but I will look to improve and correct wherever I can.

I maintain that MegaGeth should be calling the shots on the field, it's WAY more frantic than BF2 so it's certainly not easy, but, respect the chain of command.

Use Mounted weaponry wherever you can.

urm....let's keep working on this

My personal opinion is that Lee is way too valuable as a ground pounder to be assigned to the Armour squad.

I also want to state that I really do not mind sitting out for a better player. I am not naive... I know that there are much better players than myself in this team.
(Not saying that I suck!! ;) )

One more thing... I learned a bit from being gunner for Lep in the tank. He expects the gunner to be facing the opposite direction that he is. Which make sense... the gunner will be able to avoid sneaky enemas from c4'ing the tank. Lep can add more as to what he likes from a gunner.

Double post ftw!

Also just wanted to comment on Grav's idea bout me playing Engi for Lep. It's not about my confidence! :p Contrary to popular belief/common sense, comms for Lep and I aren't really easier. Sure, we sit next to each other, but over TS and in-game sounds its virtually impossible to talk "normally" to each other. Unless of course we each have 1 earphone off, but I don't like that as I rely heavily on in-game sound wiff my 5.1 headset.

Additionally (and this might sound awkward), its much easier for Lep and I to 'kak each other out' while playing armour. With being hubby and wife, we can say things like "what the fuck are you doing?!?!" which just leads to frustration... which is one thing you don't need in a clannie. I hope this makes sense? Lep agrees with me as well.
In other words, we'll play best if I'm an infant and him armour... or even if both of us are infants works much betterer.

^ nice points Shadey.. Had a chuckle at the husband wife debacle :D ^

Ok guys, after last nights game with BOC, I am going to have to clarify my options down to preferential / most suited kit.

1st preference is Assault - I have a lot of experience with all the rifles and know which ones suit which situations. I also can like toob. Its hawt, effective and I have worked on my trajectory a lot to get longer range shots first time round.

2nd preference is either Recon or Engi - This is now an interesting one... I thought I had both these kits sorted, but after last nite and getting steamrolled a little, I doubt myself a bit. I will have to work on my skeeelz.
Recon's VSS sucked HARD for me last night, although on PUB servers, it rapes. I think I must just use shotguns for the win. Neostead2000bitch is hawt.
Engi is much of a muchness. I have no idea what SMG to use as sometimes NONE of my bullets hit... I do however have a knack of C4'ing or RPG'ing a tank quite well.
will definitely put some work in here.

LAST LAST - Medic... I loved this kit in BF2, it was my competitive bread n butter. And I knew I could use that kit properly. But in BC2, I really dislike the fact that you can't fire on the move that easily amongst other things. Everytime I pick up those LMG's, I cringe a bit... Maybe I should use the NEO with it.... hmmm. I can do this if we bleeding tickets badly, but other wise would prefer my 1st or 2nd prefs.

Excellent, I think last night's experience more than anything was a leason in what how we should do things.

Phatso, you are now officially an Assault kit player
After the match - much later, I logged on with Lep n Shady and we played with a Clannie mindset and worked on COMMS etc.
From now on, I promote myself to official MEDIC. I know how to call it, I have a level head with the "Clear the Room, then call Revive" mindset.

From here on out, i think we all should have an idea of our ideal kits.

I think S3xy is our best Rekon Ninja so that should be your speciality.

We had a LOT of issues and learnt a lot from last nights affair.
What we should take away from this is that INDEED this is a very new squad and we've yet to get into our groove, but we're making excellent progress and shouldnt be disheartned by the two defeats - SSG and BOC, since HELLSBELLS it's the second time we've played together EVER.

If we work on our COMMS, get the balance right, specialize and learn to hold tight and stay cool under pressure - then I believe we can PIP ANYONE!

I'm going to avoid the Assault kit - for some reason more than 50% of my shells don't explode, must be the hax :/ FailHack V3.2beta

Would be great to have a Engi specialist, it's usually my 1st love, but I think I will perform better in clannies as a medic.

*WHAT WORKS IN PUBLIC DOES NOT WORK IN CLANNIES
On public servers there are 16 players a side and in a clan match there's 8. That translates to FOCUSED area's that just dont seem to happen on public servers.
So while it's a nice idea to practice things on Public servers, there's limited benefit there.

Lastly, I know we spoke about it briefly last night, but Grav, you need a headset/microphone fix.
Postmatch, while it was pretty much silent, we were struggling to hear you. So IN-GAME where there is a lot of action and subsequent noise, It seemed as if you were pretty much disconnected from the game completely. I'm sure this was extremely frustrating from your point of view, where you were probably screaming - GUYS HELP ME GET OUT OF HERE TO GET TO YOU FFS!!!.
There's no way to avoid sounding harsh here, but If we can't communicate, then I can't use you in a match... as we saw in last nights BOC match - every single round was LOST based on that bloody APC of theirs, we need a counter for it. As i've stated before, I think all attacking movement should be made in conjuction with Armour, it's pretty much unstoppable or at the very least distracting for the enemy. I don't want this all to sit on your shoulders though, we need a dedicated Armour TEAM and it's impossible for it to be ONE man, which it became lastnight for you when we couldnt communicate. So I can't overstate this enough, please mate, get a new MIC or headset or something. If I lived in Jozi, I'd pop around and drop one off, but I'm more central - I live in Durbadass :p

OK, let's process the info from last nights match and endevour to CAP 2 and hold.
Phatso, being the itchy mofo, can become the fringe defender, we cap 2 and he Hunts the outskirts of the flags for enemies and lets us know where they are which is quite useful and also satisfies his greek uurges in a constructive way.

Back to our roots in BF2, let's play to our strengths, we are friken MAD Skillzor defendaz, so let's do just that and bleed enemies, we lost most of our tickets last night when trying to attack, which we know it infinately more difficult than defending.

OK, enough blah blah, I've got work to do...

We need a defensive Team/Squad as much as we need an attacking team/Squad!

Last night it was made very clear that once we have a flag we moved to quickly to he next one!
Get 2 flags and sit on them! We need to make the baddies/enemy come to us!

I'm Putting my name forward to head up the defenders!
I can be a attacker, but we have a few great attackers! And i think my game-play in clannies suits a defencive game!

I will look at the maps and with the attacking squad/players look at, where the best defensive positions are! And make sure that we have the best defence. Giving the attacking squad peace of mind to move up without us loosing a point/flag!

- We all have to defend.
- Do not shoot a someone/enemy if it is gone give away your position. Unless you are sure that the enemy will go down!
- Spot incoming enemy and pass the info on over team-speak!
- We need a different channel on team-speak for the defending team!

I will ad more points later. Please everyone need to ad points that i missed. :fact:

Players i think that are good in defence is, Shadey, Drag, Jono, Lee, Fly and Myself (Voetsek)

I will have more info om maps and positions posted after work! Around 7pm.

We will Rock and can beat any team with a good defence!!!! :D
