Competition Rules

Post by gr@v1ty »

3 main categories: Jet Pilot, Chopper Pilot, Tank Driver
- Any [grrr] member is allowed to take part. Of course, participation isn't compulsory.
- All participants must have TS installed to hear the referee's instructions.
- Both competitors and referee will be on the same channel. Only the referee is allowed to speak on the TS channel during the match.
- Once a list of participants is put together, we can work out a schedule to have everyone match up against each other in a round robin competition. (ie: everyone gets to play against everyone - as apposed to a knockout competition).
- A table will be updated in the public section which should create enough incentive for the players. (Matches Played/Wins/Draws/Losses/Kills/Deaths/Score)
- Players may select their "home ground" map, with the idea that everyone will play each other twice. One home game and one away game (on separate dates if necessary).
- If both vehicles are destroyed, both players get awarded 1 kill and 1 death. It will still count as 1 point.
- Referee is to keep track and keep both players informed of the score at the beginning of each point.
- Once the referee has called the end of a point, the point winner is to start at his start point again (even if both he and his vehicle are in full health). Destroying his vehicle/suicide is allowed to reset for the next point.
- The matchup consists of 10 points. After the first 5 points, players are to swap sides (except chopper gunners will always stay on the same side).
- If your vehicle is destroyed (bailing out/crash) - it will count as a kill for your opponent, and a death for you (even if u survive the wreck).
- If you are killed, your opponent will be credited with a kill even if your vehicle is still operational.
- After 10 points have been played, the winner is the player with the most kills. A draw is allowed.
- The referee's verdict is final. In case of an incident where the referee is undecided, he may call for a replay of the point.
- Pre-match hype and Post match commentary is welcome (just please no abuse - we don't want to scare the kiddies away).
- Spectators are allowed in the matches but no interference (chat/spawning) allowed.

Jet Pilot competition:
2 pilots compete against each other in a 1 vs 1 matchup. One referee will watch over each matchup.

Chopper competition:
2 pilots compete against each other. Each pilot may choose a gunner. One referee will watch over each matchup.
Gunners are not to swap sides which balances the pilot vs pilot matchup.
Just for interest, a Gunner's table can be drawn up with "played/won/drawn/lost/kills/deaths"

Tank Driver competition:
2 drivers compete against each other in a 1 vs 1 matchup. One referee will watch over each matchup.
Hopping out of your tank to repair is allowed providing you can re-enter it. If your vehicle explodes, your opponent is awarded a kill - even if you survive.
If both vehicles are destroyed, each player gets awarded 1 kill.

To compete in the competition, you will need to provide:
- Competition category you want to enter (you may enter as many as you want. entry not compulsory)
- Home map for each category entered
- Suggest Date avail for first match
