So what are your opinions so far?

For me, I think I need to squad up a bit with him first before making any decisions.

I was a bit hesitant at first, didn't really like his answers, more the tone though. Thought he might be to young. But he joined us in TS yesterday and he seemed alright. But I agree with Shadey, need a bit more time with him

I dunno. I also think he is a bit too young. I liked the vibe I got from murgs instantly. Not the same with Ionflux.

I'm with you guys on this one. Compare his application thread to pmurg's... chalk and cheese. Liked the way he fought his way out, although getting decent responses seemed a bit like getting water out of a rock. Not so sure that his reasons for being in the clan are because he really wants to be in THIS clan, but A clan.

My first response to his application was to get a decent response from him. Didn't know how to really take his answer to "sex sex and more sex". Seemed a bit childish (but then again, Paul would fail his application on these grounds. But we know Paul better and love his comments and thinking... the whole community does, actually. Maybe Ionflux can prove himself over time.

Fly's post in the forum (about not taking things personally) seemed to indicate straight away that he doubted the vote would be successful. Thought it might be a bit harsh, considering how easily pmurgs' application was going at the same time (these 2 applicants can read each other's applications, right?).

Ya, I am thinking either a prolonged application to decide or some kind of trial membership. I agree that he isnt as easy a fit as Murgs or Lep but I am also for giving people a chance and not discriminating on account of the age difference.
My feeling is that we should draw out his application and see if he genuinely wants to join. If he's still squadding up with us in a few weeks time, let him in.

My initial reaction is that I'd vote no, but willing to give the guy a chance at least.

I think if you factor in his age, he's actually a decent bloke. He comes across as arrogant and dismissive, but that's how most guys are in their teens. I would say, however, that if he wants to join the clan purely for the social aspect then it weakens his chances considerably - we're not really looking for more online 'buddies' atm (esp teenagers), so if he's not going to compete for the clan, he doesn't have much else to offer if we accept him. More time/trial membership ftw.

He mentioned it was more for 'social' and would help out where possible in practices. I think he would like more but trying not to sound too arrogant. Looking at his stats, I think he's probably got the best k/d ratio... not being in a clan with medics carrying you, that's pretty impressive. Obviously a great gamer/BF2'er. I'm hoping he has a good personality to go with the gaming skill.

ok, i wanna get to know him, and i spose i shoulda mentioned it will take a while. i was pleasantly surprised to hear him sounding a little more mature than his responses indicate
