State of the fund and Durban trip

Post by J_Th4ng »

This post is just to clarify the current state of the slush fund and expense coverage for the Durban trip.

Durban Trip

The slush fund is currently sitting at R13,155.88. The budget for the Durban trip is R4222. This is broken down into the following items:
  • R2200 to assist with traveling expenses (this is merely to subsidize and doesn’t cover everything), broken down as follows:
  • R1000 towards fuel for those traveling with Ion (drive down)
  • R1200 helping with flight ticket short fall
  • R1022 to assist with entry to Ushaka Marine World for the attending people.
  • R1000 for a Braai that will be done on the Saturday (Beer and meat)
If anyone has any concerns/queries re this they are welcome to post them here OR PM Ion.

For those going, I hope it's an absolute blast. Don't forget the pictures...

Grrr Slush Fund Recon

Ion and I have concluded a recon on the fund over the last year, and the main finding is that there are people who have not contributed at all over that period. Please remember that the R50 minimum monthly contribution is a membership requirement and this was agreed to by everyone in the clan.

We have opted to give everyone a month’s time from the date this is posted (let's say the end of March) to please get your contributions up to date. If anyone has questions regarding this this or need details on their contributions if they are not sure they are welcome to contact either Ion or myself.

In order to ensure transparency regarding the clan financials, we will be logging all credits and debits to the fund in Excel on a monthly basis. I'm not going to post this here on a regular basis, but if you want to see the details, please just ask the clan leader or me, and we'll share the document with you.

As ever, we are not trying to stretch people beyond their financial means, but it's my feeling that most of the lapses are due to forgetfulness rather than an inability to pay (as an example of this, I haven't contributed myself in quite some time, so will be making this up now). If you have circumstances that mean you can't afford the R50 pm contribution, please reach out to the clan leader or myself, and we'll make a plan.

Thanks

Pravin Jarrod - Minister of finance and all round good guy

ooh the fund is looking quite healthy!
Think maybe we upgrade my machine with all this excess. :D

Out of curiosity (and so I can point some fingers later) how many members haven't been paying?
Cause I think there are a few members who have pretty much become driftwood. Haven't seen any life from the likes of Bart and Pora in ages.
What do we do with these guys that are so disconnected from the clan?

Thanks honorable minister of financial things!

I think its important everyone helps spread the word when chatting to other clan members to ensure everyone has a look here and has a say if needs be.

If you check out the homepage, there has been a clean-up of inactive members.
