Steam game lists
Hi guys,
After many repeated attempts to get everyone to use Xfire so that we can see when our clanmates are playing (and perhaps join them for some fun), I've realised that there are many who don't want to use XFire.
However, many of those people do use Steam, and have it setup to run on startup. Hence we often use Steam to chat with one another.
So, could everybody who uses Steam please add your non-Steam games into your gamelist (like for example BC2). Then, if you are playing BC2, your Steam status will change to say 'In non-Steam game:Bad Company 2'. Just as effective as XFire to find out if anyone is online.
To add non-Steam games, click on the 'Games' menu on the top bar, and select (wait for it...) 'Add a non-Steam game to my games list'. It will populate a list of programs on your computer, and you can check the ones that you want to add. If the game is not listed (like the BC2 beta...), hit 'browse', go to the game install folder and select the exectuable.
The game will then appear in your games list on Steam, and can be launched from there if you desire. And of course we can also use this to see when our friends are online and playing a game we might like to join.

Re: Steam game lists
Hey guys, please can we all do this? It's not hard, I promise. And it'll only take a couple of minutes out of your busy schedules.
Thanks a lot!!
Thanks a lot!!

Re: Steam game lists
Hey drags, i will do it, but the problem is i get a performance issue from iburst when i am on steam and in game, BUT it doesnt seem as much of an issue as BF2 was.
Re: Steam game lists
Thanks guys. Sorry for the tetchy reminder, but it's really useful to know when/where clan mates are playing, so that impromptu praccies can happen.
BTW, I was informed last night that the 'In non-Steam game' message only pops up if you launch the game from Steam. Is it too much to ask that we try and launch from there? I've deleted my desktop shortcut so that I'm forced to do so in future.
Hmmm, I think I'll move this thread to the clan board. This stuff isn't really for public consumption.

Only saw this now also.. sorry
I did the non-steam games thingy in steam a while back, but I didn't realise they don't show up when I play them.
Will fix-it.
