Morning all... I know that this would be an extreme long shot, but well worth the try....
So if you think there is something to add, fix or alter please do so, then we can submit it and see what kind of a response we get.

Good Morning Lauren / Nag, (lauren@nag.co.za) (rage@nag.co.za)
The GRRR clan would like to enquire about the possibility of making arrangements to celebrate our 10th anniversary at rAge Expo 2015.
Our thoughts are around the opportunity to submit the number of players from our clan that would be attending to you,
where you would hopefully allow us to purchase the tickets separately from the normal ticket sales, as well as have a section pre-booked for our players so that we all sit together.
We believe that this is an opportunity that many of the clans would be interested in, and may possibly be the start of a new LAN setup / arrangement for rAge.
Example: The LAN would be divided into 3 sections… The DGL competitors, the clans (possibly on the 1st level that encircles the dome) and then the individuals area on the expo floor as per normal.

rAge 2015 + Grrr 10 year Anniversary
Hi Morph
I have already contacted Lauren about the possibility of us running a spectator zone at rage.
She is keen for us to do it.
The only issue is we wont be able to sell alcohol, which is a bit of an issue for what we would like to achieve.
In order to do it, we need a lot of organizing and a lot of planning.
We need to, get space outside the dome.
Get power.
Get Internet access.
Hire:
Tents
Audio visual equipment.
Furniture.
Catering and food equipment.
Secure food and drink supplies.
Possibly hire people to server food and drinks(If we don't do it ourselves.)
Possibly hire live music acts/dj.
After inquiring to a number of people i know who do events.
The costs will be high. 100k+
With out selling booze i am not sure we would be able to make enough money to cover costs.
Alternatively we could find a venue off site near by and do our own thing and then sell booze.
Issue then is it will be hard to get large amounts of people to come.
The idea here is to have beer fest type atmosphere.
maybe some live music.
With lots of screens and projectors around showing live competitive games being played.
We could also have a separate area were the casted games could be listened to and watched for those with more than just a passing interest in gaming.
What this would do is attract gamers and non gamers and expose the non gamers to what esports is about in a chilled lekker atmosphere.
So we have the option.
But we have to raise some money and do some work regardless of if we decide we want it at rage or at another venue.
What is ever ones thoughts?

There seems to be a huge amount of planning and costs that will go into this :| we will need the 100k up front... and hopefully make it back with alcohol sales?
If this is not a feasible option, we should look at getting us all to rAge as a group, then do a separate event for our spectator session... maybe get advertising out at rAge for the event.

we could try arrange sponsership for the beer tent #spectatorarea if we put a solid enough plan together.
we know the relative demographic and high majority are 18+.
But as you know there are a lot of area's that would need to be addressed.
- Safty and Security (Security Gaurds) is one of them.

Do any of you really think we have a hope in hell of getting a licence to sell liquor for that weekend?
I think it's an awesome idea, but one that would require massive investment, planning and implementation effort.
Don't want to be a damp squib, I'm all for a 10 year birthday celebration, and doing something to make this rAge particularly special. But even if we got through all of the bureaucracy, we wouldn't be able to raise the funds. Just look at our slush fund donations this year to get an idea of how many people actually put money in for anything clan related. Three people have contributed money this year - kudos to J0nny, Paul and Cr0n0s.

Morph, who thought you had an ounce of decent thinking in that pip of yours?
Let me throw in my 2c - Having worked the entire weekend last year at rAge, I can say comfortably that it comes with big sacrifice.
If we're planning on doing something to celebrate the clan's 10 years, is it a good idea to have everyone running around trying to organise an massive event?
As awesome as shoutcasting for 3 days straight was, it sucked not being able to be with the clan last year.
Then there is the fact that we'll be competing with the DGL / NGL comp spectator areas inside the dome.
Add to that the fact that most spectators (in the comp areas) simply stand behind the players. After that, your target audience shrinks drastically.
From talks last year, it looks like everyone wants to make the rAge weekend a LOT more spectator friendly ITO competitions.
That means the [grrrAge10years] event has competition, which divides the audience, which isn't ideal.
The event would need a full sponsorship. Its 7 months till rAge. That might be a short amount of time. Jarrod already stated the financial state of the clan fund.
That being said, I will help wherever I can with contacts etc. Might be really worth speaking to Nathanial "BurningRed" Slabbert - nAvTV's head honcho. AFAIK, nAvTV have full shoutcasting rights for the DGL comp this year and he may have an idea up his sleeve.
** I really don't want to be a damp cloth here, because you all know what eSports and spectator value etc means to me, but I am looking at this practically.

Nag have no plans to do a spectator area are keen to partner up with someone to do it.
Lauren says they been keen to do it for a while but have not had the time, which is why they want a partner.
They would then promote that area as the MAIN spectator area.
As for booze licence, yes that is an issue (one of many), but not insurmountable. A venue we hire could come with its own booze licence, we could fall under the dome's licence.
There are options like Liquid chefs that could be hired and they then are responsible for licencing.
So there are many options.
In terms of raising money, that is tough, i don't think we gonna do this from the grrr slushfund.
There are options such as approaching rage exhibitors and getting them to "buy" vip tables.
Finding sponsors for tech equipment, booze sponsors and so on.
The issues here are not so much the details(obviously they are important).
The issue is money and the WILL to do it.
