rAge 2014 - Thursday 9 - Sunday 12 October

I have made enquiries at Heatherdale in the meantime...
(Note: Heatherdale is a 4* guest lodge now and their rates might be a bit high compared to previous years but I have asked for special rates.)

Please put your names down which nights you want to have a sleep over so that I can get the accommodation organised quick sticks and we can book 'n pay.

Also, lets see if we can negotiate Heatherdale. We've been there for many years and IMHO, the "layout" works perfectly for us. They've never threatened to kick us out/call the cops etc even though we've made a MASSIVE racket.

Yeee-HAAA!! Here we go again

I wholeheartedly agree with Phats, Heatherdale are without doubt the best hosts for us, we've had some epic weekends there. Let's try and see if we can keep it there again this year.

Incidentally, the Slush fund is fairly flush at this stage (thanks to those that still contribute monthly), so we should be able to get some decent subsidies on the cost for travellers.

I'd also encourage as many people as possible to stay over, even if you live in Jozi. The party is hectic, and I don't want to see people driving drunk. Besides, the idea is to maximise grrrtime over this weekend. At the very least, stay over on that Saturday, although if the last couple of years are anything to go by, Thursday night is where the big boys come out to play

There has been some communication between myself and Heatherdale over the past 2 days and they have come up with the following (after asking nicely and mentioning that we have been there almost every year for the last however many years). I have no idea what the numbers will be so I had to thumbsuck a figure for her to work on, i.e. 20 people for 3 days. They came back with a cost of:

R24 600 for 20 people for the 3 nights which works out to be R1 230 per person for 3 nights (including breakfast) or R410 per person per night (slightly more than last year).

I have asked for the self-catering unit as well as the braai area and where possible, single beds only but unfortunately there will have to be sharing again otherwise they are unable to accommodate us.

As of yet they do not have any bookings for the rAge dates but to make sure we get what we want we will have to book as soon as we can.
