They agreed to play with 7 guys as well so it should be fine if we only play with 7

Ja look considering our preperation it wasn't bad, so we need to step it up just a little.

For tonights practise we will go over Lockers (so far our strongest map). We will do a walk through and get some naming convensions down as well as some basic tactic i.e. what do we do when they have B and we can't breach.

Seems like the best way is to bring the center down that way you can attack from the top withour getting mowed down by the machine gun

Match Debrief

After each match I would like us all to put down our thoughts on the match and 2 ONLY 2 areas of improvement for the next match. The reason that it is only 2 us because in the pass we have plastered walls of text that are all valid but it becomes overwhelming and we implement nothing. The suggestions must also be very specific, you can’t say we need to communicate better. You must say “We must communicate better by naming the area and number of troops when you die”

So here goes, general thoughts:

Basically last night’s game was the same as a pub game and to be honest we did pretty well. Especially on lockers, in fact last night was the first EVER match that we as a team played so considering the true NOOBNESS of the teams we did very well, we always had atleast 1 flag and on both maps there were times when had more flags that the enemy, I am sure we could have won the second round of locker.

Area of Improvement

We need to stick together better. Each match I will assign the squads and then we will assign pairs in those squads if you are more than 10 seconds from you buddy (i.e. revive time) then you are too far. This will mean there will be a leader and a follower, so you guys need to think who you want to be.

For example I would put Atomic and Fire together. Atomic would lead and go balls to the wall while Fire backs him up and revives.

Second thing is I need another squad leader, Nimbz will be the infantry SL but when he is not there we need a replacement. I heard Fire ask a few times for direction in terms of which flag to attack. I tried to give Direction but sometimes it is not possible especially when I am in a fire fight.

Too sum it up I had a blast. We lost but it was 100% better than the prem games from last year!!! Our next match is against TcR (please sign up in the thread) we can beat them so lets puts some effort in this week and get our first victory on Sunday

Just a suggestion of something we could maybe try, don't know if it'll work:

On Lockers depending on the spawn two guys rush the first flag to cap it ASAP. (this will especially work very well if we have the A spawn) and the rest all rush snow to go and cap the flag closest to THEIR spawn. One guy could perhaps stay behind at stairs and just watch that doorway for people trying to flank. this would mean 2 guys holding down the A spot (maybe with heavy firepower so they could just suppress the enemy and keep them away, there are only two entrances into A - the metal detector and kitchen route I think)

5 guys would be on the flag closest to their spawn, if the opposing team follows convention that would mean most of their forces would be at B.

If they take the option to rush A, the guys at A can hold out and call it. IF they die, they can spawn on the guy at snow and try to take B with some backup being sent from C.

If they decide to retake C and keep a token resistance at B, then the guy in snow along with the two guys at A can start roaming and shooting any flankers or sneaky buggers, if C falls, those guys can just spawn on the roamers and quickly retake a position.

This is a bit more of an unexpected surprise mofo strategy, and I have no clue whether it's viable, just an idea I had.

That is definitely a potential strategy. Lockers is a high risk high reward map. The proble with the above strategy is if they catch you on the snow and mow everyone down. The guys going this route need to be awake and ready to kill/revive/kill/revive to ensure they get passed otherwise you have a whole squad wipe and only 1 flag.

It is pretty much the same as betting the farm on getting B

Good game guys, that overpowered team was well organised and practiced, but we did give them something to think about. Go grrr!

My areas:
1. Patience - Right off the bat i know we are supposed to haul ass to the flags as quick as possible, however after the first rush i think we might need to be a bit more controlled in our approach. In the first round of lockers last night we were just running to our death over and over again. Don't forget to check corners, slice the pie and just be more aware than you would in a pub.
2. Positioning - When approaching a choke point, corner or area of risk, dont stand on the same side of the corner as your team mate. You could easily block his escape route if you stand behind him which could end up in both of you being killed. Running in single file is also risky, fan out and run next to each other rather than running in a line. Have a look at Phatso's recording of the SB matches, look how they push up as a team, they are in the same line running across and pushing up together not in single file.

I got a secret spot for the snow guy... its 50% legal & 50% not... in other words you can get to the spot without hacking / breaking the game... but if you stray a little to high, fairfight kicks you.

- If you want to try it out... let me know and we can arrange a demo session :)
