@Eggy... only if you wear the right tags :)

@Geth, I would also like a slot reservation for grrr... but it is up to the powers that be to make the call.

Guys, is our rep really more important than having the clan play on the same server?
I ask that you rethink this decision.

Seriously.

Asked the same question last night. think it depends what we want out of this server. If we want it for rep then its a negative thing to kick people for clan members. Last year I was kicked a lot of the wrg's server due to their members joining and this made that I just didn't want to play there. So I went and played somewhere else. Also, the impact if people being kicked depends also on the size of the server and the amount of members joining....

Personally I didnt mind getting kicked. I played there, specially on Thursdays. Played until I was kicked and I understood it's to make way for a member of the clan of the server and I moved on to another server. Just played there the following day again..

Well yea there is lots to consider.

we cant make reserved spots for the entire clan that would make the server effectively a 20 player server when none of us around.

Kicking guys to make space... well yes its our server buts its also just not cool to sommer kick an ok.
If its done responsibly where we allow a map to end and then do it after informing the player well then maybe.
The queue system is working again now so really its not such an issue. Join the queue wait a few mins and play.

What we do kick for is high pings and so on so, more than likely we can make a spot for a grrr member under these circumstances.

Lol.

By the way, I know some of you are trolling me when I wear my BAWS tags.
I told you guys I have a social platoon, and I will wear them every so often. So just chill about that. :o

I think the purpose of the server should be defined, if it is for reputation, then no we cannot kick players just because we want to play on it. If it is for clan practises, then we should not really allow it to be a ranked server. I believe some other clans (in the states) have done is that they have two servers, the one is "public server" like we have now which helps with clan reputation (especially if we want sponsorships) while the other is a clan practise session which, if not being used for practise sessions are used for practising and on that one, we basically "kick players" and ask them to move to our open server when clan members want to join. BTW, I have a slight moral problem if a server consist of just clan members and it remains ranked, but that's just me.

In my opinion, given the number of people that we have on the clan, and the few number of people contriibuting monthly, by increasing the number of monthly regular contributions, we should really be able to get a clan-only server which we can clearly state up front that should a clan member want to join, the last person to join the server will be kicked.

Yes i think we will have to get a clan prac server for the teams. We can wait till formats and times have been decided by DGL.

Is there some sort of priority queue available for procon yet, this would be the best of both worlds as I too would like to play on our server as first choice but I also dont want to wait 45 minutes to get a game or kick someone else off to make it happen.

I think we got it spot on with 40 players, 64 seems a bit too crowded on some maps, but i dont see our commander slots?

Is there a procon gui yet if so please put me down for admin work.

I agree with having an additional clan server, seeing as the 'main' one is already paid for, surely we can organise an additional ()man server between the rest of us? How much does say a 16 man server cost for the year?
