Clan server for BF4

Going with a single month right now is doable, but we would then also lose on the pre-order discount after the first month.

Personally, I doubt that there will be other providers in the market in the short term, nothing has happened over the last 2 years. BF3 has been gameservers exclusive since the start.

As I recall, BF3 ran terribly on 64 player servers at the start, it should be ironed out with the full release and the initial patches. After all, the reason for the beta is to test netcode etc.

I wouldn't go as far as a 64 player server anyway, I don't think we need that much. 40-45 would be a great sweet spot for a public server. Even with spectators and commander requirements.

So we looking at 20 v 20 + 2 commanders + 2 or 4 spectators? Sounds like a plan to me.

The =BmW= servers are always running because they have members permanently logged in even though they are not playing so they are always in the server list which is about as dodgy as their admins...

Anything more to be said on this? We're running out of time to pre-order if we're going to.

We have the funds right now to get any size server we want for a year. Thanks to a few ad-hoc donations, the fund balance is just under R5K.

Thoughts? I'd like to finalise a decision on this. I personally think a 44 player server would be cool.

Sorry, my bad. We don't have enough available to cover a 12 month rental 44 player public server. That will come in at about R5800.

I'm happy to spot the difference for now,, and refund myself from the monthly contributions (I'll pay R500 myself as an additional donation). Are we good with that?

And Paul, this can't start from January. If I order now, it's 12 months from launch, which will have us covered until after DGC next year.
