Thanks Duckels :P But this is just a thought, wasnt the idea of using Team speak to be on the general Team Speak server where the whole BF community hangs out?

I would prefer us to use Teamspeak. If I recall correctly, there used to be an issue with bandwidth usage once upon a long ago. Also crashing and lag etc. Since then, in terms of functionality, TS has come leaps and bounds and there is really a hell of a lot you can do, from customizing logo's to adjusting individual users output volume, to running music channels and more.

It is also important that we can open the TS up to the greater Battlefield community and password protect specific channels where needs be.
I have a plan in my mind of how it should all pan out but haven't had time as yet to put it into thread format.

If anyone at this point is severely against using TS, please use this opportunity to raise your concerns so that we can address.

I'm happy to use what everyone else wants to use.

However, with Squad VoIP back in BF4, will we not be using this for public play rather than TS/Mmbl? One of the drawcards of BF4 for me is the ability to start speaking with the community again.

I haven't much used the squad VoIP in the beta, but it seems to work pretty well?

I don't really mind what we use, Teamspeak seems to have more features but Mumble's voice quality is a lot better. Let's see how it plays out on Teamspeak and make a call based on that. I don't think there's much between them in terms of network usage, but I remember one of the reasons we went to Mumble was the low latency. In game VOIP isn't perfect yet, still quite soft but yes I think we'll be using more of that in the future.

I am very happy about the ingame VOIP and you do have a point Jarrod.
(I can't get the ingame VOIP to work for some weird reason).

The point is there is more than BF4. If guys wanna pop by just to hi and chat, or other games etc. Its about creating a community of gamers and a place where people can chat and hang out.

With the risk of sounding like we are copying other people, if you have ever popped into SSG, NSD or bvd's TS servers, there are a lot of gamers that don't belong to a clan even, that are active on TS, just chatting and having a little fun.

The initial contact point can be BF4 ingame VOIP, but if we feel comfortable getting to know someone, we can give them TS access. It needs to be carefully moderated of course and certain channels can be [grrr] only too.

Of course, this is all up for discussion guys, so if you have info's please put your thoughts here.

Yeah in-game is awesome. When MWEB finally allowed me to join again I had a lekker chat with Ratex while playing.
It's going to be great chatting to people like that again.

The idea behind using teamspeak again is to be more involved with the community.
To this end we should be using the large public TS server that all the other clans use.
Having our own server is all very well and good, but then TS or mumble it makes no difference.

I think we should rather join the community server and get a channel setup there again.
That and use BF4 voice coms as much as possible.
