Phatso I am on a management course current (actually pretty good) one of the modules is Strategy. Part of Strategy is something called trade offs. Trade offs imply you can't be everything or you will fail e.g. you can't have a high quality product and be the cheapest otherwise BMW 3 series would be the same price as a citi golf.

Why am I telling you this? Well I don't think we need to compete against the DGL, our target market for now is different. We want to go after the casual clan/player. If we went head-to-head with DGL now we would fail purely because of resource constraints.

We develop a model that caters for the casual (semicore <--Trademark) player once we have a name we move on to the next level (that could be in a few years time only)

We are all games with varying levels of participation so we are unique positioned to see where the gap is. Pure social is taken care of by the numerous free ranked servers (for all games), hardcore is taken care of by the DGL (for now). So how do you transition between them? That is where I think we come in

Nice posts and some nice ideas.

Like what you had to say hubris. I think we could very well fill a gap in the market between pro gaming and noobs on a pub server.
However if we are even going to think of doing that we need to think about exactly what is required to achieve that.
Its no joke, and no small amount of work.

As for a future bf4 team.
Yes we need a change big time. WE ALL NEED TO CHANGE.
Dam straight i am tired.
I joined grrr to take more a back seat when it comes to this shit, yet some how found my self having to run the team which is not what i really wanted to do.
Its a pain in the arse, that i don't think anybody who hasn't done it has any idea off.
Subsequently i think i did a terrible Job of it, and have really have lost my enjoyment of gaming because of it.
Its become a chore rather than fun.

Having said that i know i still love gaming, and i still love competing, so i will be keen to be involved.
I think that if we are to do anything, it should be to develop a set of tools systems and procedures to make the setting up of games, practices, booking of servers, managing of a team and all the surrounding things as simple and easy as possible.
If we get that right we then have the start of s system that we could then use to host semicore league of sorts.

We also need to remember there is a cup coming up that our current bf3 team needs to play in, and then more than likely because we are in prem we will be going to rage.
To be honest rage is something i am dreading because we are going to look like such a bunch of palooka's. Currently we wont even bother any of the 1st div teams.
It would be nice if we could at least be semi competitive.
To be honest i don't see that happening. We need some serious practice, and some serious change in what and how we practice.
