Nice work on the 3d, Lee! Muchly impressed.
Sorry, guys, I made that whole big post to be more active and then RL bent me over again and fucked me sideways.
This is the first time in like 2 weeks I've actually sat down at my pc. Firstly, my new job blocks any sites non-airfreight related so I can't even visit during the day! About 3 weeks ago my 2 chickens hatched 7 chicks. Then 9 days ago my Bull terrier bitch gave birth to 7 pups. (1 died the first night so we only have 6 left now) *sad face* Also, it doesn't help I'm working every other Sat for about 10 hours!
Anywho, excuses aside... what time are these mumble Admin meetings on Sunday? I'll make it a priority to be there.
Regarding the strong opinions expressed here, wow! But I think its a good thing. Open discussion can only help us by defining our faults and letting us grow.
I cannot commit to being someone to recruit as I simply don't have enuff time to troll the servers. When I do get some pc time, you are most likely to find me playing BL2 these days. I can't even tell you when was the last time I played BF. Sad, I know.
I agree with the merc agenda as a way to recruit. How many characters are allowed in a tag? Is it really necessary to have a different tag for mercs? If a guy/gal ends up being a chop, its not like we can't fire them and be done with it. Do you think the BF community is watching us so closely they will hold it against us if someone wearing our tag acts like a complete dick? I don't want our good [grrr] named tarnished, but we can always explain with a nice post on SGS if something goes awry. We have a better chance of keeping okes and not getting them head-hunted by another clan if they are wearing the full tags. This is me going out on a limb here because the [grrr] name means a lot to me, but in the effort to recruit and keep decent ppl means taking a chance. Besides, I think some "research" will be done before an offer goes out to anyone to merc for us? Hopefully, this first screening process will avoid having any real idiots being allowed to merc in the first place.
If we are happy with someone after (determined merc time period), then we can do an official invite for them to join the clan. They can then go through the normal process of being grilled on our forums (maybe shorten it to a few days). If they then pass that criteria, then I think the clan would be satisfied? I would be. If I think back on when I joined grrr... I was still in BFC but just ended up squadding all the time with grrr. In a weird way, its like I was a merc. It's a lot harder now due to the non-voip and easy squad structure to still keep the old traditions of someone applying because they enjoyed our awesomeness. Know what I mean?
Change is hard, but if we want to succeed, we have to approach things a bit differently.
Anywho, thats my $5 worth.
