Hubris, wouldn't it be a good idea to get a couple of the 'prospects' that you've got to sign up for a team. Would b a good way to get to know some potential new members, and see how well they will perform in a formal team?

If you were prepared to make a team with two prospects plus another first team committed player (e.g. Dry or Tyger), you could suss out their seriousness pretty quickly?

I know that you've already committed to A2K, but it might be a great way to fast track recruitment for the 'main event' next year? Or if you couldn't join the team, maybe Dry and Tyger could take it on?

Just a thought.

Yeah great idea it's all very last minute though, the entries close today, but yes I'll give it a go and see if they're keen to play.

They said on the DG Forum that registrations are being extended by a week. Still not a long time, I know, but hopefully you could get something together in that time?

I'm keen, the only time I will not be available is from 14 Dec through 1st Jan? If the comp runs through those days I can play as reserve to bolster numbers when short!

Stu it's a month long league running in November only, but if it's delayed into early Dec. There is very little time to practice in November as the league itself will be jam packed. The competition will be extremely tough!

Ideally we can field two teams and they can practice together, but we will need at least one probsbly two sessions to run through squad formations, map naming and map strategies.

We will attack and defend each map twice, which encourages teams to learn from the first game and adapt plans on the fly. This will all absolutely come down to how well teams are prepared and how well they play together.

From the players we have down I think grrr should field two teams. I suggest we form one "experienced" and one "development" team to get new guys into the competitive scene. J0nny will be able to keep law and order in the dev side.

Possible team names: [grrr]X and [grrr]y ? I'd really like it if we got away from the Baggers and Nuts. This is a different compo and I really hope we can come up with alternatives. Otherwise Baggers and Nuts it shall be.

[grrr]x
- Dry
- Russian
- Cronos
- Tyger

[grrr]y
- Badass
- Jonny
-
-

- Icenflame (reserve)
- Hubris (A2K as domutron)

Ill see about the A2K thing, I've already agreed and I'll have to discuss it with ReckITT.

If I get a good bite from the candidates then I think we have a stronger case for mixing the teams up and just fielding two for the lols teams, but we will need to standardise practices which could prove a big problem.

Teams are not final by a long shot.

What do you guys think of these?

Im just floating ideas here nothing cut into stone and mixing/matching could work. A team name is something that stands out and everyone in the team sees something there that represents the spirit of the team, so float your own ideas if you want.

Ive tried to keep the names gothic, warlike and descriptive of duality. We could be the grrr Chamber Millitant serving the Administratum :P Yes the WH40k references are wild, but I think wiser than testicle references.

[grrr]Puritans and [grrr]Radicals
[grrr]OrdoMalleus and [grrr]OrdoXenos
[grrr]OrdoSicarius and [grrr]ScholaProgenium

My favourites are just Puritans, Lootas, and Schola. Suffixes could be added but.... Anyway that vibe to represent serials, casuals and n00blets.

The whole idea behind this is to really give our teams names a sponsor could potentially be associated with without a severe brain tumor (I joke I joke). I really want to make provision for three teams in case we get that far.

I think we decided now any candidates would be tagged as [grr_] to indicate status.

Lol QB don't worry buddy I'm here for you :P
