As I said in my other post, Hubris, speaking your mind can only improve things.

I am all for recruiting new members, but I don't want to just invite anyone cause they have skillz. I was BFC before grrr and they at first had strict membership criteria and then let that all go for numbers. I was 3rd in command at BFC when I left to join grrr. BFC letting the criteria go to shit RUINED the clan. I don't want to see that happen to grrr.

I recognize we need to be pro-active in recruitment, but I don't think we need to give up our standards meanwhile.

I have another person to add on the possible candidate list.
Toppie's son Barry has played in a couple of DGL finals on COD and I know he also plays BF. Realy swell oke to top it off.

Will try and get his BF nick and advise later

You're not the boss any more so shut your FACE!

Ok so I think keeping an eye out for the right players and filtering the leads as we are doing is a good approach referral basis and targeting certain players. Good to see that conversation is still going and should continue!

I'm working on some free agent dudes, I know that's risky and all but we have to give it a crack and just be strict about it. I've chatted to them a bit and they all seem happy that I contacted them and that we've squadded up. So far their conduct is good and they play damn well, I just don't know what their personalities are like just yet.

I didn't go for anyone below 250hours, a K/D of 1.5, SPM of 500 or Skill of 500 - though some are on the borderline, we had good squad work and I think all would benefit from having consistent players around them and a little coaching on this or that. I think these are decent skills guidelines, they're ambitious but with flexibility not too tough.

I don't agree with a stats requirement, but I need a pretty good reason to be interested in a free agents below two or three #s. This is by no means a final list. Yes most of them are quite young, but I think thats what we want out of a free agent. Someone we can mould and someone who potentially could be around for a long time.

lBriggsl - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/lBriggsl/ (epic medic)
Stitchzor - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/Stitchzor/ (le troop)
Hambeggar - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/Hambeggar/ (le troop)
GhostFighter15 - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/GhostFighter15/ (top 1000 global tanker)
Spartaxus - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/Spartaxus/ (le troop)
GalopingTortoise - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/GalopingTortoise/ (le troop)
Inertiacreative - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/Inertiacreative/ (le troop)
Glordit - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/Glordit/ (le troop)

If we get one guy from this approach, its a win. I havn't questioned them yet because there are a lot of teams recruiting and I think if any free agent is going to join a clan they're going to want to have some kind of social connection with the guys they plann to spend hundreds of hours with. They want to join a clan with soul.

For example, while I was squadding up with Briggs BzK tried to offer him a spot over public chat and he just politely pretended like he wasn't interested in clan play - squad chat said otherwise. If you see these guys online, take note. If you would like to add to the list and eventually pop the question to the guys you have post your schmidt here!

Anecdotal sure, I still see something in that though from my own experience. grrr followed much the same approach when I was recruited around this time in the BC2 season, we played a few games together, showed squad work and I was invited to ts and the rest is history. If that "friendship" wasn't there, I would never have joined ts.

Excellent, I think this is the best approach. First feel the guys out. I recognize lBriggsl , GhostFighter15 and GalopingTortoise . I will definitely squad up with these guys so we can get a "second" opinion
