Please correct me if I am wrong....

the next person after the founding members who joined was Jackal, then myself and later candidate(could not join earlier due to SGS admin affiliation)

Clan started when we both put on tags as far as I am concerned. Grav's application was the official nod from the real world.
I seem to remember making jokes about clan stacking when both of us were on the same side up against [Asault]. I apologised but they just lolled.
How rude...

This is what I got so far, it is just a start so add and amend

Intro

Grrr is a casual gaming clan that primarily focuses on the fun and social aspect of gaming whilst still competing in leagues such as the DoGaming League, specifically the Battlefield series of games.

History

Grrr was started by two friends in 2005/2006, Gethyn “Megageth” Gilmour and Jono “s3xy_j0nny” Wickwar decided it would be a hoot to slap on some tags and whilst playing Battlefield 2. With their unique brand of humour and delusions of adequacy on the two play with themselves for a few months, regaling stories of their awesome kills and non-noob behavior. This caught the attention of Lawrence “gr@vity” <Insert surname> who had also been playing Battlefield 2 for a while as a lone wolf.

Using bloodhounds and an extremely expensive PI gr@vity tracked down Megageth’s email and applied to join this new clan. Not fully understanding the consequences, Megageth foolishly accepted this new applicant and this partnership was now recognized as a full-fledged clan. The flood gates soon opened with a flurry of new applicants that were readily accepted. These people included Jarrod “Drag0nne” McElhinney, Mike “Flycather” Fletcher, Lee “SlipperyDuck” Logan, Ion “Cr0n0S” Marias and Ignatius “Jackal_GI” Marias and Paul “Paul_RSA” du Plessis. Grrr was now well on their way to becoming one of the best and most recognized clans in the small but vibrant Battlefield 2 community

Nice write-up so far, but I'd suggest including a little more on the make up of the clan:

- Interesting demographic information e.g we have 4+ members over 40, we have a couple of female members (unusual), formed in CPT but no has a largely Gauteng (or indeed PTA) membership
- Events e.g. rAge since 2007, XXXL party in CPT
- When introducing yourself and Ion, you should use your orignal nicks. We are talking history, after all.
- Special relationships: The relationship with BBH
- Memorable matches/achievements: 2nd in AGASA League 2008, the match against BBH at rAge 2009
- Profiles on a few interesting members: Grab a few diverse members - I'd pick Onxy (delectible clan mom), J0no (founding father), Lee (The man who makes things happen/magician) and Phats (the next generation/bringing back the PHAT). Basically focus on some interesting gaming/real life aspects of individual members

A few more personal details is what will make the blog interesting, rather than a dry list of clan achievements. What makes grrr uniques is our diversity and our common bond - both in gaming and real life.

My BF2 Nick was leelo0270 and my SGS Forum/GRRR Forum nick was Slipperyduck.

It was only after BF2 that I managed to get the good ol Slipperyduck name back into the mix

Sweet Mega. The headings I had though were for more detail not just to list the games but I suppose we can use those as sub headings

@Jarrod/Lee, no person knows all the details so that is why we need the rest of the clan to do what mega did. Where you spot a mistake or want to add then copy and add to the existing stuff. No one will have the time to take everyone's stuff and compile it

This will also give it a unique flavour in that it is authored by so many people. Once the content is down though we can ask j0nny to make sure it is "english-ified"

Grrr was now well on their way to becoming one of the best and most recognized clans in the small but vibrant Battlefield 2 community.
As of 2012, the membership stood/stooped at around 20 active members.

Fun Facts

• Grrr is one of the few clans that has a large percentage of older gamers (more than 30 years old) with at least 4 members that are over 40
• Grrr has 2 female members which is unusually considering that the primary game type is a WAR “sim”. Both of the female members have competed competitively in various DoGaming and AGASA leagues. Sheri “Niteshade” Buchner was the first female clan leader (if you ignore s3xy_j0nny) of Grrr and was elected for the 2011 season.
• Grrr members regularly meet up outside of gaming i.e. in Real life, mini events such as braais “piss ups” occur throughout the year in various provinces. Grrr have also made an annual pilgrimage to the NAG LAN @rAge since 2007 and competed in various Cups at rAge. Another big event took place in 2010 when Grrr held an XXXL weekend to celebrate multiple members hitting the Big 4 OH

Members (Please add yourself and some interesting stuff or expand on what people have written)

• Paul “Paul_RSA” du Plessis
- Originally started Battlefield 2 under the nick “Candidate” but in recent years changed to “Paul/Paul_RSA”.
- Was an SGS admin in Battlefield 2 but couldn’t take the heat so got the fahshzzle out of the kitchen
- Clan leader of Grrr for 2012
- Has no Pigment
- Pretty much the coolest and most awesome guy in Grrr

• Stefan "Hubris" Griesel
- Captain of the Baggers
- Noob

Friends

Over the years Grrr has developed special relationships with various clans. In particular two clans, namely BBH (Bound By Honour) and WrG (WarGeeks) are considered to be friends of Grrr they are mostly seen as the slow friend that Grrr needs to help when bullies come round but they are considered to be “good people” and the Grrr members regularly mix it up with the member of these two clans.

Nice one Paul! Do all the Baggers need to write something about ourselves?

Maybe add SSG, BvD, BOC and BFC into the grrr friends network? Also maybe mention that despite the high average age in the clan, young and old players mix well for a good blend of reaction times and experience?

Will be really cool to see this complete, our clan is by far one of the most interesting.
