personally , if we were to get something more than a t-shirt I also think the hoodie is a gewd idea.
I am all for a better quality shirt, I have worn my first shirt countless times and thats why its so buggered, also could not find the thread that was made on the original idea.
I noticed that the new sites logo isn't quite the vanilla logo we used in the past, but does come very close?
rAge Attire
I voted for a Hoody.
If I may put in my 2c. I'd like the Hoody not to have 100cm x 100cm branding all over it. I really prefer minimalstic design and it also ensures that the hoody can be worn in not only casual situations.
Color wise, Black / Dark grey are normally safe. The hoody's casual vibe + professional minimal branding is a very fashiontastic combo.
We can chat about this more once the decision has been made.

My vote will go out for a jacket, but I do agree with Phats to have a minimilistic design for the logo. The smaller logos will not only be a damn side cheaper to make (embroidery work is charged per stitch) it can also be worn very easily for normal wear. I like the idea of making "year tags" which every person could then just add below, shows you your veteran state in GRRR.... the clan leaders can also get a "golden" badge or something... they are special individuals... the year tags could also be made retrospective... (oh, and the designs could include our names etc)
With regard to my aunt, any body can do the embroidery but as Jonno mentioned, she is retired and now does this on the side line. She takes great pride in her work, so we can be assured of a great quality. Being family, we may even get some discount, but the secret is to do it early so we need to get something up and running ASAP.
With regard to the the quality of the jackets / hoodies, I will rather pay a couple of rand extra to the slush fund and get myself something that will last a good couple of years than to skimp on it now and by next year need to replace it again. On the topic of t-shirt, happy with a t-shirt, but preferably high quality again and preferably something with a little bit less of a "impact statement". I have the weirdist boner is not quite the shirt you can wear out in public on a sunday....

A thought on the Hoodie/Jacket debate. I know that everyone is currently loving the idea of hoodies, it's probably something to do with the fact that we've just entered Winter, and it's extremely cold right now.
However, a Hoodie is not exactly all year round attire. If we go the hoodie route, you can expect them to be worn in Winter, and Winter only. I remember the beanies that I had made, they were a great idea, but I'm sure that they don't get worn very often.
Now a jacket, on the other hand, assuming that it's fairly lightweight, it's something that we'd get a lot more wear out of. Add to that the idea of adding patches to them every year (Denis' suggestion), and it seems like an ideal solution. Could be something as simple as a denim jacket - they are easy enough to find, and simple to add embroidery too in the form of patches.
Clearly the vote is currently very in favour of hoodies, and I'll go with the majority vote. I just think that it would be a shame to have a warm rAge weekend that results in none of us wearing them...

Paul, I know it is an either or, and I already cast my vote. The jacket that I am thinking of is very much in line with Jarrod's suggestion in that it is fairly "lightweight" thus can be worn whenever (think a denmin jcaket, even a sport jacket, track suit could do). I suppose one do get a hoodie that is not too warm too, so it is really much of a much-ness-sake, the benefit, a jacket one can unzip and still look cool in it.
Obviously, this is a majority vote, so I am easy to go with whatever one opts for but would really like to be able to wear this throughout the year at various occasions too.
