I know it's a bit of an off-topic....
But I think we should consider VBulletin Publishing Suite.
For a Long time we've used SMF Forums, which is free, we've recently tried to spice it up a bit with a new skin, but essentially it's all still the same.
We've tried bolting on some Content Management Systems, but they just dont really integrate.
Have a look at a clan using vBulletin publishing...theres a lot you can do with it.
http://www.do-or-die.eu/content.php
http://www.miaclan.net/
http://cxnteam.com/
etc
They give you great support fully migrating SMF -> vBulletin, so you don't loose topics n what nots.
Obviously its a big change.
$285 for a new license is also quite a lot. but the system is fully integrated - forum, blogs and content management the lot.
Plus there are meeelions of plugs ins made by people for everything to do with Server monitoring for BF3 LOTRO WOW etc, purdy much it's the biggest one out there with the most support.
Anyway - 2c spent
(I think the wargeeks use vBulletin too!)

Re: BF3 Servers
I'm with slip on this one, changing the CMS and back-end may also provide more flexibility for monkeys like myself to help the Slipperyone with the website management etc.

I think we have some fund as Jarrod said so as the resident techie Lee we would take your advice. If you think that it is worth the cash I am all for it.

Re: BF3 Servers
Sounds like a great idea Lee. We've got the approval of management, so do you want to go about procuring the requisites? I'll refund you from the Slushy once done.
Considering the funds that we have at present, it's a god idea to get this while we're still fairly cash flush. We'll still have plenty left in the pot for rAge and wotnot.

Re: BF3 Servers
Haha, yeah - I havent done anything with it yet... I'm busy going through the motion of getting the dodge version of it so that I can test the migration and customization offline.
It's a major change and I want to make sure we get it right first.
Once I'm fully comfortable with it, most defs will go and buy it but until I do some testing and look at the pitfalls and what nots....it's in flux.
