DGL Match 2 -- Operation Metro (ESWΛTBF3 )

Post by Hubris »

GRRR BAGGERS V ESWΛTBF3 SUN 19 FEB @ 20:00

Map: Operation Metro
Practice: Wednesday @ 20:00
Mid-week Match: RFH are interested in Thursday @ 20:00

ESWAT are a bunch of friends, some older and some younger - decent players and we need a big win against them. They have some smart guys, but I think they will lack cohesion, especially if we come at them hammer and tongs. Lets stay aware of all squads and be absolutely methodical with our positioning and shooting.

RFH are giving us a friendly run on Metro and Seine. We know RFH: extremely aggressive, sharp shooters and res fiends. These guys can jam and they'll give us a good warm up friendly to up our game. They have agreed to the maps so we can give our tank a spin and get some Metro fighting in.

We went through Metro the other night and gave better names to areas and strategise, so be sure to catch up at the next practice if you missed it. This map is all about corner shooting, squad play and knowing the moment and where to push. Let's finalise squad positioning and moves at the practice, but I've tried to explain the jist of it below.

If you're around and have some time to join the practices or be involved in the warm up, please be online. It's really great to have the full team available and contributing to the preparation and match. We have a lot of new combinations to practice and drill before we play RFH on Bazaar, it'll be an experimentation and learning game to keep everyone fit.

I think we've all gotten the hang of MSI Afterburner now, so I'd like the following to record Metro against ESWAT: Hubris, Phatso and Slippy. Let's not worry with Bazaar. Of course, if you want to record anyway, that's cool feel free to share it - but I would like to have a look at these perspectives on Metro specifically. Phatso if you can't record Tyger can instead.

OPERATION METRO:

A: Hubris* (medic) sprint
A: DryMan (tube) ammo
A: Paul (medic) frag
B: Phatso* (medic) sprint
B: Cr0n0s (support) suppress --- RU side Leppy (medic) suppress
B: Tyger (tube) frag
C: SlipperyDuck* (support) flak
C: Leppy (medic) suppress --- RU side Cronos (support) suppress

R: NoMaD
R: Pmurgs
R: J0nny
R: Dragonne

GRAND BAZAAR:

A: Phatso* (medic) sprint
A: Hubris (tube/engineer) ammo
A: Pmurgs (medic/engineer) frag
B: NoMaD* (medic/engineer) sprint
B: Cr0n0s (support/medic) suppress
C: Leppy* (tank driver) flak
C: Paul (gunner/spanner) explosive
C: J0nny (spanner) frag

R: SlipperyDuck
R: Tyger
R: Hubris
R: Dragonne

So on US Metro: A squad will go for the dog-leg and tube out the corner opposite them that covers blue stairs. That will allow B squad to rush blue stairs and clear their right hand side corner only. Once they're in behind the elevator block, B squad will tube out lockers for A squad to rush and secure.

Once both squads are in position, C squad will move up the orange stairs and go for the ticket office or lockers to tear them up. Cronos is in B squad to provide suppression fire in the dog-leg and ammo for that squad. I opted for an extra med pack at the elevator block because it's the centre point of our attack.

From the RU perspective, Cronos will join Lee's squad to provide the base of fire we want. Leppy will move back into Phatso's squad. A squad will hold the locker area, B squad the office area and C squad will suppress the mess. We have two nice tricks to get them off the elevator block, so stay tuned!

Sweet I am there like a bear.

The Leg 2 registrations are open now so that people who found out about the league can register for the next Leg. We don't need to register until after this leg. It closed in April sometime as far as I know

There like a bear. So, are Cronos and Paul both playing? (just confused by the / in there.) Also, is murgs unavailable this week?

Yeah our plan was to hold the ticket hall with two support gunners, one on each side - so Lee and Cronos. If we play Seine Crossing, then we'll need Paul to do his usual role on the tank. Doesn't look like murgs is available.

DisidntAggressor just confirmed the friendly against his Black Legion. They are playing Bazaar, so the maps for the friendly will be Metro and Bazaar. That way, both teams benefit from having a run on their match map.

I don't think Murgs put his name done as being available in

http://www.grrr.co.za/forum/index.php?topic=2807.new#new

so that could be why he is not listed the "slash" usually indicates the players will play on different maps

Cool Hubris

I think just for clarity can you list the teams for each map e.g.

Metro
A: Phatso
A: Hubris
B: DryMan
B: Tyger
C: SlipperyDuck
C: Cr0n0S
C: Leppy

Bazaar
A: NoMAd
A: Hubris
B: DryMan
B: Tyger
C: Murgs
C: Paul
C: j0nny

Also I would suggest we get as many people as possible to play on the Bazaar map that aren't playing on the metro map, just so that we all keep match fit. I would hate for us to need to call on reserves and they haven't had game time for weeks.

This is just a suggestion, you say is final and everyone needs to listen to it

Both those team lists only have 7 players.
