BF3 Performance Config

Post by DryMan »

Hey all

So I don't know about everyone else, but when I play any game online I don't care too much about visuals, I just want the highest fps possible.
And naturally this would apply to BF3.

So a couple of weeks ago I found a config profile that gives me, on average, an additional 10-20 fps.
And since I know that not everyone is as lucky as Mr Fly, who is just given an uber leet pc, or even be able to afford such a monster, I have taken the liberty to upload this config.

If you want to give it a try just save the file in your main Battlefield 3 folder (Origin Games\Battlefield 3 ...)

Fanks Dry, I played a round of Metro last night to test and it did seem to work. Only thing is I wish I could get rid of the in game fps counter! Definitely seemed to help for those "wtf I just unloaded on that guy and nothing" moments!

Sweet will give it a go.

Hubris I think you just need to change

render.drawfps 1

to

render.drawfps 0

Some of you guys have noted that the config makes the game feel a bit jerky.

So I changed one of the lines.

RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 0

to

RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 1

The game feels a lot smoother now.
