installing bf3 from HDD - not downloading

I managed to install bf3 without having to download it - I know it was stickied on the sgs forum, but thought to add a few notes here:

thanks for the hard copy of bf3 skoups - unzipped it into the following in Program files (x86)/Origin Games/Battlefield 3 Beta and stuck all the unzips in there. As soon as i clicked install in origin it said installing (not downloading which would have taken over 30 hours on iburst)
notes - i had to install directx, punkbuster and vc before it would let me install properly (not sure why). I did this by going to each of the relevant subdirectories in Program files (x86)/Origin Games/Battlefield 3 Beta/_installer and clicking on the redist subdirectory and then the relevant application.
the thread on sgs recomends extracting to this folder with origin closed - it didnt seem to make a difference for me.

I struggled with this and could not get it to work so I ended up having origin download the stuff again, which finished last night

Didn't work for me. Tried the installer that Murgs downloaded for me but my Origin wouldn't pick it up in the folder. I ended up having to download it again on my Cape Town rig in order to get it to run.

I certainly hope that the retail release is easier, I don't intend downloading that twice!!

eish, sorry guys, not sure why it seems to work for some and not for others. perhaps it is an unzip issue?
