and cleaner, more hygenic, and and and.

regarding the wear of them, if you have a chair with wheels on it in which you use a lot, for instance the one in front of your pc, then I will suggest you just put a carpet beneath it. I actually messed up my one room's laminate because I did not had a carpet underneath it and ended up replacing the floor there. (then again, I may be slightly heavier than the average person)

just slightly heavier? Yeah Tyger I'd suggest Laminate they very durable provided you maintain and care for them properly. Also so much cleaner than carpets which was what we were going to install! So glad we chose laminate!

@ Skoup if you need help installing let me know

@ Russian, Total cost for over 30m sq was 3800.00 including all the fittings and extra's so that is from start to finish...

No Russian! It should NOT be the first thing you do in your house dude! The first thing you do in your house, especially if you are planning laminate flooring is to take a grinder and grind some grooves in your floor in order to network your whole house. (read this: http://blog.skoups.com/?p=8) then when you have grinded in the grooves in your floor, layed all the Cat5 you can get your hands on, only then do you go and install the laminate flooring over the grooves. Doing it this way round, means you do not need to worry about fugly wires dangling from your ceiling etc. Also, a word of advise, if you do decide to grind the grooves into the floor, if you take two grinder disks and stack them together, and cut the whole depth of the grinder, then the width and depth is just enough to actually allow for 4 to 6 Cat5 cables to be laid neatly in said groove. The groove is also small enough not to impede on the installation of the laminate flooring (and you can just install it over said grooves.)
