1. I played baseball for Cardinals since i was 6 up until about 22. I had to throw the towel in due to elbow and knees giving in. I was a Shortstop and catch. Catch destroyed my knees, sitting crouched for 3 hours up and down did damage.

Assume I give you a box which can not be deformed in any way (i.e. you cant make the box bigger or wider or anything). The inside dimensions of the box is 10cm X 10cm x 5cm. If I give you uncompressable ball bearings which is perfectly spherical with a diameter of 1cm (i.e. you can not deform the ball bearings) what is the maximum number of ball bearings you can fit inside the box and still be able to close it. I.e. what is the maximum number of ball bearings you can fit into a space that is 10cm x 10cm x 5cm.

I think I know how you calculated that answer, but I think you have miscalculated the space between the layers. Out of interest how did you stack them?
