    Good evening...

    1) how far can you run into a forest?
    2) how long is a piece of string?
    3) have any clans declined your application, if so, why?
    4) do you know any grrr members?

    1. If it's a magical forest, right up till I encounter any naked elf tribes. Otherwise, till I encounter a bear, befriend it and take over the world. If it's a forest of midgets, it's a whole other story.

    2. Twice the length of half of a piece of string.

    3. No, this is only the third clan I've applied to, the first being UbS and the second Borg. I was invited into my first one.

    4. I used to be in the same clan (Borg) as Dryman and Ecko7. I once tried to sell an old mobo to TygerBS over SGS. He never bought it. You bugger. Other than that I've only talked with a few in forum discussions on SGS, this was quite a while ago though.

    Flycatcher -- I'm going to assume it's the necrophiliac version of a rusty trombone.

    Hi Moonside
    Welcome

    Why is life like a tunnel?
    Why are there fly's?
    Do you think we will ever unite the general theory of relativity and quantum mechanics?
    How much would could a woodchuck chuck?

    Hey Firesyde. You are a lively one aren't you

    1. Your real name your momma gave you.
    2. Your actual age and your emotional age, eg. those of us who are older will always be 25 in their heads forever...
    3. If you were a superhero, what would your powers be and why?

    That's it for now

    Tyger:

    1. It isn't, it's more like a mountain trail. But if it was a tunnel, it's probably because of something Freudian.
    2. To show us where stinky things are and to be a damn irritation.
    3. Isn't there already a theory based on that theory? I would google it, but I find these things so fascinating I wouldn't get any work done.
    4. A woodchuck could chuck how much a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

    Onyx:

    1. Hanno

    2. I turn 21 in December, as for my mental age, it varies from the amount of coffee currently in my system and whether it is weekend or not. Although on average I'd say around 27. Most of my friends are in their late twenties or early thirties. In my previous clan I was used to playing with people in their late thirties and early forties (went to raAge with them as well), some of my fondest gaming memories.

    3. Teleportation/Superhuman agility and telekinesis. Teleportation would give me the strategical edge in any situation and telekinesis would just be awesome to fling objects around.

    That is all dependant on the mood she is in and the level of kak that was caused... In the case of BadAss, it varies between, "Jacqie", to "Jou fokken bliksem, kom hier..." so that is all relevant Onny.

    Ok Moonshine, you are 21 years old, a junior developer, started playing games 20 years after some of us did, and you have no clue what a hairy blender is. Hang in with the questions, they may seem pointless, but they actually reveal alot about you.

    Herewith my questions:

    1. Post a picture of your current computer's insides. (Some members suffer from OCD you know)
    2. Explain how the speed of light was measured back in the late 1600's
    3. Since you are a programmer, here is a nice challenge for you:

    - You can use any programming language you want. (programming languages that I have seen the code for include the following, VBA, VB, Delphi, Pascal, SAS, SQL, JAVA, PHP, Mattlab, you can pick your own favourite language)
    - The answer must be calculated and output in plain text format (i.e. I want to see the answers)
    - All the answers should be calculated within a matter of 5 minute. (i.e. using nothing but brute force is not recommended)

    N O R T H +
    E A S T +
    S O U T H +
    W E S T =
    ----------
    E A R T H
    ----------

    The above equation contains 10 unique letters, each letter represent a unique number between 0 and 9 (0 and 9 is included). The objective is to find all the possible combinations where the above sum is true. An example of one such a solution is:

    H=0
    R=1
    S=2
    A=3
    N=4
    T=5
    W=6
    U=7
    O=8
    E=9

    replace each letter with a number then the sum will read:
    4 8 1 5 0+
    9 3 2 5+
    2 8 7 5 0+
    6 9 2 5=
    ---------
    9 3 1 5 0

    The above is but a single correct solution, there are more solutions to this problem. Your objective is to write a program that calculates and output all the possible answers within five minutes after pressing the "go" button. As I've mentioned, I have seen this done in a number of different languages and is actually quite fun to get it right. Ps, before some smart arse tells me it depens on how fast the computer is, I wrote a program in excel that calculates all the solutions in less than 100ms using an i3 laptop processor so doing it within 5 minutes is more than doable in any respectable language.

    I think that is all my questions for now. Just a note, the above problem has a very beautiful solution.

    Ps, regading the general theory of relativity and quantam mechanincs has not been sufficiently linked as yet. The current leading theory they have is something called "M-theory" which is an extension of "String-theory". If you are really interested in this topic, (and not just say so because Tyger is an intimidating individual) I have a couple of great books at home covering each subject of not only the two theories (relativity and quantam mechanics) but also how they attempt to bring the two theories together.

    BadA$$jack:

    1: ...Yes

    2: I would give it to flycatchr, since it seems to be somewhat of a signature of his. I would stick a knife in his back at a critical moment and proceed to "go to town" as they say.

    3: "What is the meaning of life?", "How many unicorns do you need to blend into a fine mist and spray on as cologne in order to attract hot virgins"

    4: Any nickname with the word "Perd" in it tends to be funny, as for how he got the nick. I can only hazard a guess that he has luxurious long hair.

    5: Not at all, I prefer reading English and I have no trouble speaking it. Most of the time I speak English at the office.

    Skouperd:

    Sounds about right, my last guess is that it's a type of unique teabag?

    1: I will get that as soon as I get home

    2: Being the 1600s: Cannons, wenches, lanterns and men stroking their long beards. The one that yielded the most successful results was the good ole "New World Theory" where they tested the times between the light of the glint of gold versus the speed of how fast the Spanish invaded. (A similar type of experiment with white flags and flares was done in later centuries in France).

    3: Thanks! That actually sounds like it could be quite fun to figure out.
