Lower the age restriction limit for new applicants

    Yo!

I ain't here to cause no trouble, Hoze, I'm just here to have a good time

Yeah, I think it's a great idea to bring up younglings into the world under the flying flag of the Grrr clan. That way, we know they will grow up to be as manly as RussianElite, influenced by the one comedian Paul, as laid back and relaxed as teh sexiness that is j0nny, as weight-lifting energy-driven Phatso and American as Niteshade :P

I'm only just beginning to reveal the iceberg with the above awesomeness mentioned.

It really IS ok to swear! But Grrr can also teach some self-regulation: Imagine swearing amongst friends in a bar or friendly braai as compared to swearing in an international, policy defining meeting between nations of the world?

    It's OK to swear!

    But I recommend to self-regulate

    *embraces incoming flame* lol

You had me at manly I'l enjoy this until Tyger or Paul posts something haha. I doubt the under 21 rule will fall away, also I wouldn't want it to. It keeps this a mature clan. But Raz you on the grass or something? haha

IMO, the under 21 rule is non-negotiable. I like having clan mates that are a little more mature than what can be observed elsewhere (like the DGL forums for example).

Of course my opinion may change when my kids become teenagers...

I'd say keep the under 21 limit in place...

I would actually motivate that the age be increased to 30 years... There are few people that is matured enough in their 20's to say for instance own a house, or be in a really serious relationship, have kids, have real responsibilities in the office etc. To explain to a student why it is impossible to NOT participate in a practise session, or why the kids takes priority, just does not appeal to me. If we look at the current clan, most of us have actual real life commitments that is slightly more serious than playing computer games or partying all night. If somebody wants to swear in the GRRR channel, then let them swear, if somebody wants to talk about the latest movie clip of some pornstar doing the funky with a chicken, then I am all for it. I don't want to be "moderated" just because there may be kids in the channel.

Saying the above, I know there are very responsible and mature people under the age of 21 as well, but they are a rare find indeed. For me, if I go online, I like to relax and have some fun in the process and just talk kak. Not to mention that youngsters miss the point of "real-life-constraints" versus "it's-just-a-game".

Scientific fact, dried testicles of rhino poachers can cure aids.

Yeah, you just swayed my opinion. A bit of thought expansion...

I didn't create this thread thinking of "mature, not-mature" but as "mature making the not-mature mature." haha.

Dryman said it best - they must learn the hard way!

Age is fairly arbitrary, as maturity levels vary. The alternative though is very time intensive for current members: spending a lot of time with applicants online to suss out their maturity/suitability.
