Wired gaming mouse vs Wireless stock mouse

    Guys,

I need some help, currently i'm using some std wireless mouse for BF3. I've heard some rumours that i might be a noob and sacrificing precious milliseconds in the heat of battle. Do i need a wired gaming mouse, or can i continue owning with wireless?

    Queue the slaughter

Razer mumba... so you can choose when you want to go wireless or wired... best of both... I am very happy with mine!

I think it is really down to DPI on the mouse, but sure standard wireless isnt as quick as wired. I also recommend the Mamba, it's a bit pricey but you won't regret a cent and it will serve you well for a couple years. The wireless is pretty much indistinguishable from wired performance so you can swop between them based on your preference.

Affordable wired option that is a absolute King of a mouse is the Logitech MX518 or I think its nenamed to 300 something. Chronos got him one at Rage and I'm sure hell give you positive feedback about it.

P.S I got one and it rocks, I think they go for R299 or R350.

Agreed with everyone here. Wireless mice are not friendly for twitch based games, even wireless gaming mice are not favoured by serious players due to input lag.

What mouse you should go for though depends entirely on personal preference and budget. There are a huge range of dedicated gaming mice available, catering for different tastes. Having extra buttons on the mouse is one thing, but more important is the comfort in holding the mouse, dependant on the type of grip that you use.

Logitech, Razer, Roccat, Steelseries, Corsair, Coolermaster and even Microsoft - all of these companies offer a range of gaming mice. All are good, and they'll have models that will fit your budget (as long as you have one ). I suggest as much as possible getting hands on with a mouse before buying, although this can be difficult unless you can find a retailer that sells a great variety of mice.

What you don't want to do is buy a mouse simply because someone else swears by it. Personal preference is far more important with a mouse than any other piece of hardware.

Ja Drag is right, personal preference is very important I had a razer Diamond back (j0nny swears by his) and although it was sufficient I was not 100% happy. Got myself a Roccat Kone[+] (previous version to Roccat Kone[+] XTD) and I have not looked back.

This. I bought my Logitech MX518 8-9 years ago. And it still is a pleasure to use. It was succeeded by the G400: http://www.logitech.com/en-za/produc...-g400?crid=825

Wireless is a nono for me not because of the whole "ZOMG CHAGE BATRIES BTWN RNDS!!!11one" but because it would be a schlep to keep a charged set and regarding the whole "charge while you play plug in" thing, meh, get a wired. It would also feel weird because after this many years of using wired, I would probably need a few months to get used to playing with a toy that doesn't have a string attached to it.
